Not in a home d.k., but still in my own homestead and fully mobile.

Re 'Broken Hearts' the fear of rejection is a powerful 'motivation' not to do things. Even posting poems. Won't do it because others might not like it. Rejection at work...

Well bugger me, recession's fake?
But I read it on Twitter
You tellin' me Don's got it sorted?
That coiffed-up golfing shitter?
Well I'll be.....

I'm glad your cat told you your glasses were perched on top of your head. Ah, the problems of getting old. Now where is that 'd' on my keyboard? Lost my glasses. Sorry........
Thu 8th Aug 2019 22:19
DK, your poems always make me smile. Thanks for sharing. D
Sun 4th Aug 2019 09:59
You need to give me a reference poem to go to to see what I wrote
'not sure what you mean here' ??.
Fri 2nd Aug 2019 09:53
You bring me fodder
Food for thought
Don't ever stop
Don't leave me nought
Cat plays with mouse
What's this dead rat?
Cat waits for mouse
While on it's mat
This could go
On and on
Have to go out
Be back, not gone.......

age is all right-
what's scary is
Like Annie Lennox says "Dying is easy it's living that scares me to death"
Tue 30th Jul 2019 04:55
thanks for reading the poem,"Pulse".
your pulse should be good-
do not give in to IMpulse.
Ah..,...I'm always jumping in to IM.
(silly boy - wonders why he crash lands so much....)

'Fraid dk your poems
Always make me sick
Sick with laughter (that is)
I then can take the mick
The serious ones however
I know they must come out
I cannot take the micky
On these which are about....
Things we need to ponder
(I need to garden shape)
Instead've of rhyming nonsense
To someone called d knape 😛

DK - when I saw the title "Hearring Loss" - I anticipated a blog
about our UK fishing stocks (herring) running low - slightly misprinted. I was doubly deceived!! 😃
Mon 15th Jul 2019 12:48
Thanks, I am really well and so are the two hounds. We enjoy our summer morning walks together.
Sun 14th Jul 2019 11:13
A bear seeking rare's not a humourous thing
(Sorry dk, humorous is how it should be spelt)
Was apologising to you for my not spelling it 'humorous'
Mon 1st Jul 2019 08:31
Didn't they tell you
Your printer needs ink?
No wonder it's grumbling
It needs an ink-drink
You will have to ask it
(Kindly), which brand
They're so bloody fussy
(Nothing too bland)
Now dk how'd YOU
Feel not getting 'INK'
A brand of your beer
To drink, wink, wink, wink
So go to your printer
On bended knees
Ask for forgiveness
Say which brand now, please?
I could go on
In this foolhardy way
You ask "What's a cartridge?"
Damn!, forgot, another day 😛
Sun 30th Jun 2019 04:27
I'm pleased you were awake enough to read my comment 'yawn'.
(I thought 'zzzzzz' might be too complex). It's you my friend who was causing me to doze off by encouraging 'Sweet Dreams.' at the outset....what could I do?
You gotta admit it didn't have that comic spark to get me going (hence 'yawn') but we all need some serious stuff thrown in every now and again to bring us back to our senses hey?.....
Tue 25th Jun 2019 23:15
Hey, DK, never be frightened by the jazz hands! lol. thanks for visiting my page, which BTW, leads me to yours bwahahahaha.....and oh the glory of breaking that chain.
Tue 25th Jun 2019 21:36
Sorry DK but I do not write the POTW intros. It is someone far cleverer than I and I understand it is to remain anonymous, at least it was when I was involved some time ago.
No shame taken 😇
Tue 25th Jun 2019 16:27
I know you're a nice
I understand you completely
You'll be recognized one day
But I've just read your poem
On nothing to say
You'll have to do better
Than this one dk 😛

Bah to so-called labour-saving devices. There is a UK TV advert
extolling the "advantage" of an electric whisk over a hand-held one,
neatly avoiding the cost and the likelihood of power breakdown and
inconvenience. And I bet I'm as old as - and probably older than - you, as I can even remember using a fork for the purpose of mixing
Sat 11th May 2019 07:42
DK, I’m afraid rumours of my greatness are hideously over-exaggerated. In fact I read all the poems on WOL.
Your Non-Fat piece struck a chord with me as I have been trying to slim my work down recently too
Wed 1st May 2019 19:41
Only just seen the question about 'keep your pecker up'. It's Cockney, (East End of London slang), for cheer up! or similar expressions. You prob know about Cockney rhyming slang, which is fascinating.
Thu 25th Apr 2019 13:24
Eh? Broke down or just broke?
More like sometimes dazed...often confused! 😇
Tue 16th Apr 2019 19:13
Thank you for your post on my blog. I am afraid you are right. We have lost our values and free spirit to be and to speak freely. The ´thought police ´maybe listening. Beware, You could be trumped at any moment.

Missing Person Keith Jeffries, last seen prowling through the undergrowth of heavy prose in search of a liberating poem. No need to contact emergency services.

To which food are you referring: bitter and pickled eggs (beer and hard boiled eggs) or raspberry ripple (a flavoured ice cream) ? I looked up temale but think I would prefer one of the two I have described.

Hello D.K - in reply to your question about notifications, I am still getting them, but I had to say, on a kind of form to fill in, which ones I wanted, and which not. Perhaps if you go to your account you will find this form.
Always enjoy your stuff! Hope you are still getting fed one way or another| Perhaps the last effort, about departing, was due to starvation tactics? Cabeza di cocco!!!!! Not really, love your poems, keep one cheerful. What exactly are enchiladas anyway? Obviously food of a Spanish origin, but can't get further than that, and am too lazy to look it up.
Wed 20th Feb 2019 21:40
Hi DK - electronic systems are known for their "blips"!!
Sat 16th Feb 2019 18:57
Hey D. Thank you for your kind words on my profile! I 'm a regular nobody but I do mean every word I say! 🎈
Wed 23rd Jan 2019 18:16
Hiya D K. Have an ear from each, and am quite happy with that!!!!! Thanks for reading my stuff.
Tue 15th Jan 2019 14:35
Have you ever read one of my poems? I'm curious because I know you read my comments, and with no profile picture I can't tell if you're a spambot that came to life and developed a sense of humor, or if you're messing with me. . . .
Stop messing with me!!!😅
But do keep writing.
Sat 12th Jan 2019 20:49
d. I love your sample 'chain letter'
You could not ever be called 'the weakest link in the chain' However if that link is anywhere above where you are... Its a rapid decent to a pile of rusty bits of metal hoops clinging onto each other in the vain hope that someone will link you back up for some useful purpose.
Where was I? Oh! I remember chain letters!
I am still waiting for mine...
Some bugger always deletes it before I see it!
Tue 18th Dec 2018 22:27
Call me what you want, but don't call me bad at rhyming or late for dinner!😎
Sat 1st Dec 2018 15:41
Very tasty - positively Cordon Bleu!
Wed 21st Nov 2018 17:10
Some of your list of questions after my comment I have already covered on 6 August so that should suffice. Insults tend to go stale quite quickly unless they are very skilled. It is not obligatory to comment on poems but where an inspiration comes in I feel it is justified, which I did in your case. Perhaps you might feel the urge yourself someday. Other than that I am flummoxed - either I am not getting your humour or aliens have landed. (That's my humour).

Hello dk....I'm alive! I just saw your message. I laughed so loud my ribs hurt.
I have returned to NY and am very busy getting settled in. I miss WOL and look forward to joining in the fun soon. Be well!, Jane

You are not taking up my valuable time as I believe that as we comment on each others poetry we are learning all the time. Being on this site is invaluable in improving one´s own style. We all help each other through constructive criticism.

Hi DK, so sorry I didn't respond to your comments on my blog, I guess I'm not sophisticated enough to get your meaning. Still loving your poetry though. Cheers, Kate
Sun 11th Nov 2018 17:15
Hey cool! Now I have a profile picture just as bad ass as yours!😎
Sat 3rd Nov 2018 15:44
Hi DK - my career largely consisted of "people watching"
but at that stage of life, an active interest in poetry was not involved. In my retirement, waiting rooms might certainly
be source of poetical ponderings but I usually have other
things (like treatment 😐) on my mind. However, I might
find something in future experience that sees me look to
humour for a poem when I'm next due for the needle or drill!

Referring to your query about the Sardinian diet
They eat sardines sardonically
and mutton munuttonously
Caoimhe June Jane Ryan
Thu 25th Oct 2018 12:36
I'm from Ireland, my name is an Irish name.
It is pronounce like 'Qweeva'
I definitely get a lot of attraction with my name. It's unique I suppose haha.
June is my middle name Jane is a name I chose for myself when I had my confirmation.
I guess I could have chose an easier name but what fun would that be haha!
Thanks for your comment😃
Sat 20th Oct 2018 16:18
Hello DK! Love your profile!!! Feel like that myself. About your query - they do eat sardines, but being a pastoral people love mutton!!!!!!!
Also loved Breaking the chain. mixed up the torturers a bit though! Gestapo OK, but waterboarding I think is US technology, and as for tarring and feathering!!!!!! Loved it.
You will be glad to hear I am not competing for POTW at the moment, (Why they awarded it to me stll astonishes me) as I have broken my wrist!!!!!
Keep up the go0d work! Surprised Wolfgar Meire didn't get at you for the anachronisms!!!! Jennifer
Sat 20th Oct 2018 04:21
My retorts are lighthearted, which you will be aware of by now 😎
Mon 15th Oct 2018 14:24
I had never read your sample 'Chain Letter' fully until now. That is funny, to hold up someone else's hopes of a damn message, and then even better - to delete it. You are sly.😎
I also have burning bushes in my ears and brimstone in my nose - but you can't see that part. . .
Wed 10th Oct 2018 21:12
Hello there DK - thanks for the comment on my page.
No - it's not me on the bench - a snap by me taken in
Dartmouth, Devon, overlooking the River Dart towards its
estuary. This was the jumping-off spot for many US armed
forces' vessels employed in the D-Day Landings 1944...on
Utah Beach. Now it is a very popular holiday spot - but
you can also probably imagine how busy it was then!
Fri 28th Sep 2018 04:09
10 for effort, quality poetry, and making me laugh. Especially the last one. That's really important.
Thu 27th Sep 2018 08:41
Marmite is something similar to Vegamin I think in the USA and Rioja is a Spanish wine. Both are delicious. You must be somewhere else on the globe I think.
Mon 24th Sep 2018 08:27
No I don't carry the sign a round with me. It was more about my presumption at calling myself a poet and leaving it to others to decide. It is probably getting a bit old now so I should perhaps change the profile picture.
Tue 18th Sep 2018 14:25
Hi DK - the humour in your blogs is always welcome and
especially when it connects with things we find ourselves
suffering in this electronic/keep-up world. I tend to agree
with TA when he mentioned his suspicions that clicking on
"unsubscribe" might send an unwanted message to its
source - and, instead, I look for "delete" whenever possible. Rest assured, I do not see that happening in respect of anything you post on past/present evidence 😃.
