Yes that sounds about right! First you pass the Adriatic then the Ionian then the Aegean! I sound like a GPS! Haha!
Sounds like a nice trip anyway?

Hey Tommy. Thanks for stopping by at my profile! If it was the Adriatic Sea you crossed then you passed from Italy to Greece and it wasn't the Aegean but The Ionian Sea. The South Mediterranean is my home and I find it ravishing! But I don't think it's just I that feels this way. I guess it's no wonder it took you breath!
Thanks Tommy ?

I once sailed across the Adriatic from Greece to Turkey (or was it from Italy to Greece?)
at dawn - The sun inches above the Islands in the mist and a glass-like sea. It was the most transforming vision that I have...shh I do go on
ps I grind my own beans.

pps or was it the Aegean?

Hi JC - regarding your I Walk The Line charity appeal - I
went to the link provided and "joined" via the procedure
on offer, completing the process right through - trying
via Paypal with an endless buffer on view to donate. I then
tried via my bank card - with the same endless buffer
for "processing donation". After many minutes waiting for
completion, I gave up and signed off - unsuccessful in my
effort to donate. Sorry.

Graham,

Thank you for such constructive criticism which I appreciate enormously. I make no distinction between people of faith and no faith. My problem, for the want of a better word, is not with God, but with the Institution of the Church which is manifestly corrupt and not worthy to represent Christ for whom it should be his representative on earth. For this reason I no longer attend church, yet thankfully this impasse has not damaged my personal faith.

I wrote this poem as someone who has lived for many years abroad. On my return I could make a clear comparison between the country I left to the one I now find. People are being knifed nightly on our city streets, which is an example of violence. Second the appearance of hampers in Supermarkets inviting customers to donate food to the local food bank. This was unheard of. Yet the Government proudly declare that we are the sixth strongest economy on the planet. My last example, as an ex serviceman, is to see fellow ex service men living rough on the street, sleeping in shop door ways with mental health issues. Something is seriously wrong here.

My perspective is therefore somewhat different to most people who have witnessed these gradual changes.

I don´t write out of a sense of judgement but out of indignation, not as a Christian but as a fellow human being. The Church can go and hang. Recently my local parish church put out an appeal for 10,000 quid for the restoration of its bell tower, but what about Private James Bladdon down the road sleeping rough with a bottle of vodka concealed in a brown paper bag.?

My poetry often focuses on social and moral issues. I endeavour not to offend rather to highlight the plight of the less fortunate.

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on my article. This I do appreciate.

Kindest of Regards
Keith

Hi Cynthia, I think you're thinking of Babyliss for the beauty products and Trevor Baylis for clockwork radios.

I honestly didn't know about the menorah until you asked, funny isn't it, I've loved this picture for years and yet never researched it. Not even sure who the artist is now.

I also thought the 'fork symbol' had a connection to the Jewish menorah. Ancient symbolism is an amazing 'study', and still so apt in our modern world. Like whether a) the circle embraces the square or b) the square embraces the circle. Huge concepts for human life, emphasising the 'why', not the 'what, when, where or who'.

I think I recognise 'Bayliss' as a famous 'brand' name, but I can't remember what product, or line of products. Body care maybe? I do have a vague idea that the products were both fine, and expensive. Am I way off course? I'm just curious, not nosey. Tell my beloved mother that! Who preached: 'Curiosity killed the cat!' And my flippant return: 'And satisfaction brought it back!' I'm surprised I didn't get smacks. But she just chuckled. Time and time again.
