A VERY warm welcome Brandi and thank you very much for liking my pomesapennyeach!! It takes a lot of courage to post when you are a naturally shy person. I know. Anything I can help with, just ask. All good wishes. John

The mighty Mississippi-
its presence profound
the lazy old river
ever seaward is bound
who'll question its flowing
who'll challenge its might?
whoever the fool is
is surely not right!

Thanks for the comment on 'The Dinosaur...', Jennifer, I'm glad you liked it. I must admit that I've always had a little doubt about that list line myself. I don't think it's the rhythm though, maybe more that the order of the words is a bit awkward. Perhaps I'll revise it at some point.

Jason though you might enjoy this -
Said Zebedi nonchalantly sipping his tea Rhyme can be sublime but sometime a chime a chant a twisting slant that ignores you can't can be the plant that bears the rarest fragrantest flower that rears the shining climbing tower that awakens sleeping weeping cowards to see and say hooray hooray today came some really cool communication surprising inspiration such a sweet and strange sensation and please let's not forget in the creative sweat every asset by which the poet is beset alliteration personification metronomic syncopation and oh yes punctuation said Zebedi pouring yet another mug of best builders tea.

I'm a fan of rhyme and tight structure myself, Jason. It's always a pleasure to read someone who takes as much time over, and has the same passion for, language as I do. This poem works for me.

Hi Cynthia! That sounds yummy! Actualluy when i said I liked to eat ice cream all year long I ment all year long during all FOUR years of my little affair with Mr. C ! I'd say be careful with the weight but in all honesty Cynthia those ice-creams got me out of bed into my clothes and out of the house so screw it. Do what makes you happy! When you finally make it to the finish line that's when you'll start building your life all over. If you have an extra pound or two, the hell with it, you'll lose them in no time and if not then there will be just more of you to love! No big deal!
If you are referring to my the one that says: "Art is the imaginary solution to a problem that is unsolvable in real life." then yes it is originally mine. It is what I discovered when I first started writing. I have many a short story written that have a matching cross to be born! I remember the first one, I wrote it in the middle of a sleepless night. I fell asleep as soon as I finished the last word!
Thanks for stopping by on my profile! Be strong! Get well! ?
Mae
P.S. Your Bio is astounding! How is it possible for one person to do ALL that??? Really, tell me your secret!

Mae, I was really interested in your desire/need for 'ice cream' for a whole year!
Right now, I love raisins, salted peanuts and chocolate pieces, all in one mouthful! It's the salt that binds it all together. I could just purr! I have to be 'sensible' or I'll put on weight! I gain weight FAST! (But not too sensible, in honesty.)
Thanks for responding. Your photos are lovely. Is that your original 'quote' at the end of your bio?

Finally making progress with my manuscript, *if* it is accepted by a publishing firm, It will be surrounding mental health, as I feel passionately about expressing the battles we face and providing a voice to those who struggle.
Fingers crossed this ends up going well.
Even if not, I will never give up writing and aiming to become a voice for those in need! ?
Thank you to everyone who reads my work, those who comment with feedback, and those who express fondness in the terms of a "like". Being part of this community has helped me grow, develop confidence in my work, and aspire to get to this point where I am finally trying to finalise an Anthology/Pamphlet on mental health!

Bah to so-called labour-saving devices. There is a UK TV advert
extolling the "advantage" of an electric whisk over a hand-held one,
neatly avoiding the cost and the likelihood of power breakdown and
inconvenience. And I bet I'm as old as - and probably older than - you, as I can even remember using a fork for the purpose of mixing
stuff.

Miyurangi,
First I thank you for commenting on my poem "This Friday". Your poem "The Wait" although short has a special quality to it. You certainly possess the potential to produce more work. Poetry is the art of the subjective and behind every poet there lies hidden the philosopher. Poems range from being descriptive to those who espouse the voice of dissent. "The Wait¨ has a descriptive quality. I look forward to reading more of your work.
Regards
Keith

Roll up windows, ugh
i remember how nice it was to get push button windows
so you did not have to stretch all the way over to roll up the
passenger side or the rear windows in a rain
i remember all this because i am old
but I have not yet rolled up my mind.

Hi Ray! Thanks for the 'Grimm's Fairy Tale' comment. Must be the awful weather we are having that has brought out a morbid streak!
Have another couple of 'Grimm's' coming up! The papers/TV have also been full of the most appalling murders/killings recently as well.
