I think it is difficult for your latest verse "Out of my head!" to be liked but an attempt to reread delivers something. Tommy

Hello Dk,
I get that same feeling when I see old punks still donning the trappings of their youth. My comment on your poem was not meant as a criticism on content - it was an attempt to start a discussion regarding revolutions and behavior.
I do know who Howdy Doody is, Buffalo Bob! This one is Charlie McCarthy.

the poem was just about
how some people do not change,
live in the past
right down to the same clothes etc.
Woodstock is the little yellow bird in Charley Brown-

All the other country's are run by dictators, kings, or religious fanatics.

Hi JC - my email told me there were two comments today-02/09/19- on your old blog "Old, Racist and Thick". When I logged on to read them, I discovered that your entry of that title had been removed and
that only GS's comment was visible to read. No attribution to the
moderator involved and the time lapse between posting your blog
and the two comments referred to only serves to beg the question
why now?

Thank you Martin for your comment at my poetry "Partition: Nightmarish Verity" It was the largest mass exodus in the history. Loots, Riots, rape and so many mass inhuman activities, bloodshed happened in India and Pakistan. If we talk about figures the loss of life was approx. ranging between 2lakhs to 20 million. Hindus and Sikh moved to India while Muslims escaped to Pakistan for safety. Even though seven decades has passed yet the bitterness is still there between two nations.
Even if I try I can't share the horror of partition in poetry. I so wished if this poetry was fictional but unfortunately it was not so.

Hi chrystel, just wanted to say that the reason I said I would try and live up to the line, "Poets see the beauty of the glass," is because, not only is it a truly beautiful sentiment, but also a really keen philosophical insight. I read that and thought, "Now there is something that would genuinely be worth trying to do, not worrying about whether my glass is half full or half empty, but just appreciating how beautiful it is to have a glass at all."
Just wonderful writing.

Hallelujah! - so to speak - for someone who uses 'intuit' as casually as 'hear' or 'speak'. It is a SPLENDID word, not given nearly enough credence. IMO, of course.

‘Why the rhyme or the rhythm?'
You're absolutely right. No need for either. That's the beauty of poetry ‘no finicky rules'!

Hi Ruth, I think the 'positive spin' echos Kieth's point, not wrong just behind my shoulder as I turn away.
Thank you all xxx

Apparently Adolph visited the UK at one time pre-war. Sod he was his Luftwaffe planes bombed houses in our street. I was under the stairs with Mum - I didn't have a clue what was going on but Mum was having sniffy words with someone called God. The body never forgets these events - I still startle at the sound of a car back firing or the like. P. ?

Hey Adam,
There was no need for you to apologize!
I appreciate all comments made about my work- the good, the bad and the ugly, lol.
Constructive criticism motivates one to step up their game, so to speak. I certainly do not take it as a personal affront.
Glad you liked Three Empty Words.

Thanks for that Lightbox message, Phil. Yes, little Kayla was marvellous. I have two lovely pictures of her which I have put on our Facebook site - maybe I should post them here, too. Her dad said it would be all right. There were 21 floor readers, plus Pete the featured poet and Rodney the compere. And thanks for your comment on my Three Kings poem. That was a pub where myself and fellow former newspaper colleagues met once a month from March 2013 until earlier this year. It changed hands, lost its rhinoceros, and we have moved to a pub a few staggers away, across the road. It's not the same - our pints often slide off the table and crash on the floor. Although maybe the subject of the poem has something to do with that ... that has never occurred to me before ...

What is the point that Don, Adam and Graham are hoping to achieve with their negative simplicity?
Am i losing something?
I appreciate the points from Ruth.
Surely Chrystel has a valid point.
Why the negativity folks?
