Hi Winston,
thanks for your comment on my profile.
I do tend to have a 'different' perspective when reading poetry and comment as such.
Some unfortunately don't appreciate my seeing other than what was intended but surely it's precisely that which makes for a good poem?
Life is rich! It's often our outlook on it which is poor.
Love Janet.x

The whip round for the bankers is such a good idea, the government have already organised one on our behalf on a non-voluntary basis.

Hi Daniel, Thanks for your coments The Exhibits. If you are like me, its impossible to force poems to come out of your head. I do find that the more I read the more creative spells I get. Beer also helps ! Stick with it, I am sure inspiration will come along. Winston

I'm sure your performance version of 'two cats' was different. Either way they are great, I loved hearing it because it was a little leftfield and I love refreshing changes like that. You brought it to life with the reading.(at Hebden, hole in the wall)
always enjoy seeing what you are up to, and as always really appreciating your support, fantastic community here.
Heres to your wood burner and your solitary thoughts. Great to see the work with your daughter too, she will have a good poetic career i'm sure.
May make it to sale, though Laura has a gig straight after.

Hi there,
Thanks for the comments on 'Confetti' - it's really nice to know someone is reading my scribbles! :-) It wasn't my wedding day btw, it was a fantasy about someone I didn't marry. My actual wedding day was quite different, nerve-wracking - and I wouldn't go through all that again! :-)

Hi Gus.
Thanks for taking a peek at "...not the only fruit." It's a very clumsy tongue-twister, but was great fun to construct. I guess writing something with that volume of rhymes is more akin to a crossword than poetry.
I really enjoyed the simple beauty of images in your "Yellow Dress" btw. Or was it beautiful simplicity? Probably both!
Regards,
A.E.

I welcome any comments or criticisms of my work. Just don't ask me what 'Agnus Mater' is supposed to mean because I'm really not sure. I was drunk when I wrote it. The title is a reference to Agnus Dei - The Lamb of God. I just riffed on the idea of Jesus being a lamb and therefore Mary being a ewe.

You're absolutely right - and I'm working on it... really I am! I am getting there. And should you ever meet me I don't think you'd find me maudlin at all, I'm writing that out. Though I didn't think One Touch of Nature was maudlin - I wrote it as a thank-you. And look where it got me when I started writing about shaving pu.....cats!
I do appreciate your comments and criticisms, and thank-you for reading them.

Hello David.
Yes, I'm off work at the moment with an injured arm, so I've got far too much time to sit watching the birds in the garden. I've got a regular flock of long-tailed tits that visits my feeder, and there's a red kite hanging around Harrogate at the moment that keeps flying over my house. It'll get a poem written about it if it's not careful! See you at WW sometime soon?

Hey Winston. Thanks for reading and leaving some feedback. In answer to the question about 'pyronoia'; yes i would love to work with someone to have this (amongst a few others) animated. i can envisage a kind of anime style:see. the end of akira perhaps? Also can I say I really dig 'DECREE NI'SI' very dry. It purposefully slows the train of thought down from a normal reading speed, to a much more contemplative tempo. Liking it.
Matt

Hi Winston. Thanks for your comments. It's actually about my grandmother dying. She was upstairs in our house. I was too young to handle it at the time and I went up the fields to sit with Willow instead.I love the sensitivity of horses ( but am also scared of some) and she seemed to understand.Sorry I rambled and it is unclear. Thanks for your comment on " Nobody ever visits..." I tried to portray all the imagery and emotions mentioned in the comments received but placing personal experience of the subject matter to one side. Hopefully, i managed it.

Being a fan of clever rhyme and lyricism, I have to say that I loved reading '...not the only fruit'. I bet it's especially good in performance - I could see you winning slams with that one - that's if you haven't done so already.

Hi Steve - Cheers for the comments over 'Perfect Place' - I must admit it is probably my personal fav poem, so clearly you have good taste! I've only ever read it live about two or three times probably because of the serious and deeply nature off it! The girl I wrote it about ages ago seriously cried when she read it, so clearly I did something right with it.
If I can build up the courage - I could well read this out at Freed Up next time, even though it is not about parties! lol
