thanks for the continued supportive comment Stu - I also checked on WOL before posting 'Rosetta...' and couldn't believe no one had posted already - pays to be quick eh? From one Yorkshireman to another - I was also moved by those final pictures - not that I'd share that with non-Yorkshire folk you understand - oh, wait a minute....*wink*

thanks for commenting on 'Rosetta...' Laura - I remember you also liked the companion piece to this that I wrote when Philae 'touched down' on the comet a year or two ago ('Philae shakes the hand of God'). Feels like there should be a third in m me to make up the trilogy at some stage - hopefully that battery will come back to life... :-)

Thanks for your kind and insightful comments on 'Rosetta...' Harry - we seem to be in the minority in championing 'form' poetry, but I really do like writing and reading it - the extra challenge of producing something that works on multiple levels is very rewarding. Pleased that you liked it - although that there love poetry stuff isn't my strongest suit - so may have to think twice about producing something in that particular niche

Hi Harry
You shouldn't be putting it about how hip it is to be an oldie. Some entrepreneur will come up with pots of wrinkle deepener cum toe nail thickener.
And as for the heap, at least we all at the end spend a brief moment on top of it.

HI John I'm quoting from a book called Southern branch lines - plenty of pics in there. I'll list the relevant lines concerned on this conundrum!
1. Brockenhurst - Bournemouth via Ringwood and Hurn, closed 1935.
2. Brockenhurst Ringwood Dorchester .
3 Brockenhurst - Broadstone Junction.
4 Ringwood - Christchurch
Holmesley is no the old station tearooms with the trackbed forming a road (quote). Wimborne an industrial estate. I travelled the road from Brockenhurst towards Ringwood which is pretty much a main road. I don't have an old road map but maybe this might have replaced the track bed, albeit much more twisting! I couldn't find an alternative site for a line , but the station backs right on to that road. Have fun. Also there is a little preserved station called Breamore, near Fordingbridge(also served) which was ran north south.
Have fun. Cheers Ray.

Hi Ray Glad yoiu liked the High Window. I co-edit it with Antrhony Costello. By all means try us with some poems, although I'm afraid competition is pretty stiff and and the winter and spring issues are now full. ASnything that comes in now will be considered for issue #6 in June.

Hi David, I have checked your online journal and mighty fine it is. Is this something you run yourself and/or contribute to? I would be very interested in submitting a hopefully suitable piece myself if that is possible. I am trying to spread my work and need to make a concerted effort, with a possible result in having a pamphlet at least to my name. If you have any helpful suggestions I would be grateful. You know by now my style as such I'm sure.
Regards, Ray.

Hi Harry
Glad Time of life made you smile.
It was after a comment was made that I "look really well", that made me wonder, what it would mean when the compliments stopped. I figured I must be close to my 'peak' what with the compliments starting now.

thanks for the comments on 'black cloud...' Cynthia.
Interesting you picking up on the disjointed lines - I honestly did this deliberately (a) to give a sense of the thoughts that flit in and out of your mind in this circumstance and, (b) to try and set an edge of unease (and 'difficulty' for the reader) because this was the way I was feeling.
So in a way it's worked - but, hopefully, not in a way that makes it too difficult to read naturally.
And if you thought that was a tough read - well the new one goes to a whole new level *wink*
I value your insightful comments as always - and may catch up with you if you're at Sale WOL in October as I am the guest poet - hopefully see you there

HI David, I'm so glad I raised a bit of fodder for thought on the Penguin poem - I wondered about the italics! I think it is thought provoking as it is and quite a nice image as if breath is to be scooped up from a bowl. A Milliganesque conception perhaps. Penguins do conjure up an intriguing sight and that consolidates the idea I feel. Always a pleasure to read your stuff.

Hi Ray, to be ahonest I have agonized with thaty ruddy Penguins poem! I have nagged away at it even when I thought it was not really worth it. I've had a couople of comments, including yours, that encourage me to think that there might be something there. I did also wonder about keeping 'a bowl of air'. it's in italics because it's a translation of 'un bol d'air' the French for a 'breath of fresh air'. Mind you, your interpretaion is quite interesting so I might keep it in for that! I could put maybe a 'breath of air' but that's a bit ordinary. I think I need to leave it for a while and move on!

With regard to The Transformation, your comments felt significantly valid and valuable. I truly believe the archetype of Mary Magdalene (before Catholicism started to interpret her in a different way!) lives a little in all women... : )

Ah yes well, there's a story behind that one.... "Disobedient" refers to my going against the will and command of my ex-lover when I first started writing properly. The voyeurs refers to the amount of hits I get on my blog but disproportionate to the comments and direct engagement I get. This has got me thinking though, maybe it's time for a new strapline....x

'Writing disobedient verse for voyeurs'? There's no such thing anymore, Katy. Who, exactly, do you think you are disobeying? Strange word for a free-thinker.
Genuinely interested, if you care to comment.
