Poet's Blight

I've got a stack of poems

Waiting to send, arrive

Been struck down with dread Poet's Blight

Don't know if I'll survive

Not heard of Poet's Blight before?

No WOLer's told it's curse?

Am I the only WOLer here

Writing Blighter verse?

This Blight it overloads you

Drowns your life in verse

Leaves no time for playtime

Damn! It's getting worse

I gotta go to rehab

Poet's Blight Motel

Absorb their life of luxury

And hope to come back well

Booked out for 12 mths! Damn!

Would not reveal names of any WOLers currently booked in (i.e. living life of luxury). Rose? You there?......

What's going on? I'm beginning to suspect this 'prunny rose' problem of yours is causing more trouble than you're letting on. Come on, don't be shy girl. Don't tell me? You're comfortably entrenched at our Poet's Blight Motel rehab establishment but you're out of it. Smashed. Told you to take it easy. Ah well, when you've come out of the haze hit their free phone to WOL and update us.

Poet's blight?
sounds all right
each word uttered
matched with one muttered
each word stated
with rhyme quickly mated
and while others may hate it
I'll never be sated
and if rehab I need
to stop this rhyming screed
I'll check in soon
and drink in my room
until all rhymes are gone...though it could be worse
if the blight were free verse.

May we all recover. My backpacking trip helped....maybe.

I too have the blight.

Hopefully soon things will be right.

And tho its true its not contagious

I am in a definite state of catharsis.

This is a particularly virulent Blight-form I fear which has floored me.
Your alcohol-cure may just do the trick. I think though your w/v either/or prescription may need a little 'upping' ( I think a doctor would say 'increased'). So I'm gonna try a deadly mix of both. 'Twill either knock the little Blighter bang! or knock me ' nōn compos mentis'

If my daily posts dry up for a few days you can assume the latter happened. But, like the little Aussie battler I am, I will arise (struggle up) from the ashes like a phoenix. How's that for crash hot prose?...?

I wonder Jason if Rose is suffering 'prunny rose'? She may be too embarrassed to admit the Blight has struck her with a dangerous mutant strain. Knowing Rose she doesn't give a toss what she reveals. We shall all wait with bated breath for her utterance ....?
