Systems Failure
Joints creak as floorboards bend
Cold steel glints in moonlight
Sharpened to filet
To sever the lifeforce held so dear
To rip away the pigmented cloak
Revealing the interworkings
Snapping the framework
Her eyes draw blank
The voices stop
Finally I sleep soundly
