Personal possibility

There is a part of us whose sums equal we can never be,

It is the part that leads to disappointment and discontent,

But please don't be overpowered by a self-created sense of self-resentment,

Because these parts of us we just can't catch

And the distant pace setter that we can't ever hope to match,

Well these are just a definition of our own personal poss...

A less formal (peformance based) approach to analysing my lyricism

My definition in rhyme.

I write rhyme

Because, I like rhyme.

I like rhyme

Because sometimes, rhyme rights me.

Sometimes, me, I fight rhymes,

Sometimes, rhyme fights for me.

But I never bite rhymes,

Because I likes mines.

See they mine my mind so deep

That even I don’t know what they’ll find.

If this was cranial surgery, my loved ones would weep,

Poetic theme developed

A poet is just a maker of connections.

You can’t think without connecting concepts,

Or speak without synergising sounds,

You cannot write without linking letters, verbs, adjectives and nouns.

If it's not that we are lacking in sight,
Perhaps it's that near undetectable reflected light,
From the beholder's eye, that makes us glow so brightly.

Loveloved one

Hardly original, but still my perspective

Beauty is openness,

beauty is truth,

beauty is not the shallow absence of imperfections

absent mindedly bestowed by youth.

In notions objects and places,

it's far easier to be objective about the subject

of this most subjective of emotions

than it is when we consider faces.

For beauty in people goes deeper,

lasts longer,

is marked over years

Something a little more formal!

In the half-light

We were supposed to wake in half-light,

Before the breaking of the dawn,

At the dying of night time and birthing of the morn.

Our eyes crave a moment of adjustment

In which to recalibrate,

As sub-conscious cogs turn and internal switches flick back to early, from late.

We weren’t designed to rise in darkness,

Our sleep should n...
