A Wirral Heritage – Ingimund's Vikings 902AD

Seven seconds slap the bow-

Seven seconds splash the oars-

Seven seconds wash the shore-

Seven seconds wash the welcoming mussels-

Seven seconds,seven seconds,seven seconds-

Seven seconds welcomes a sun glinting new wave.

My name is Ingimund (Norseman) I am the leader of

thousands of Wirral Vikings, the year is 902 AD.

By agreement with your Saxon King Ethe...

Strangely Named Animals and Insects

The lesser spotted Ladybird-

no spots or feathers-

can't fly-in bad weather-

blows off on the wind-

then wonders why?

But then just get's on with life and doesn't cry.

*************************************************

There's the greater striped Tiger Moth-

well it's mostly sort of black

really, with 2 orange eyes at the back.

And it has two wings-

Smile and Laugh

You can work very hard and long-

you can give of your best always.

But - do you know what ?

people won't like you if you don't 'smile and laugh'.

You can take all the stress that comes your way-

you can take lot's of hardships and the low pay.

But - do you know what ?

people won't like you if you don't 'smile and laugh'.

Yes you can take hatred,racism...

It Takes Courage

A Poem By Graham Robinson ' It Takes Courage'.

It takes courage to stay or go - sometimes..
It takes courage to say yes or no - sometimes..
It takes courage to 'smile and laugh' - sometimes..
It takes courage to be who you really are - sometimes..
It takes courage to even drive a bloody car - sometimes..
It takes courage to both care and share ...

It Takes Courage ...sometimes

It Takes Courage to say Yes or No - sometimes..

It Takes Courage to stay or go - sometimes..

It Takes Courage to be who you really are - sometimes..

It Takes Courage to Laugh and to Smile - but not all of the while, just - sometimes..

It Takes Courage to face adversity and other bad times - sometimes..

It Takes Courage to keep  sharing and caring and trusting - sometimes..

'Time' - A Triolet

Time once was guaged by candles burning

Time passes, but wisdom stays.

Knowledge is gained by time spent learning.

Time once was guaged by candles burning.

Wheels of industry are always turning.

Sundials replaced by solar powered displays.

Time once was guaged by candles burning.

Time passes, but wisdom stays.

Flippity Floppety Flump (Competition)

Flippity Floppety Flump-

The Cow jumped over the moon-

and landed with a heck of a thumpety thump-

thumpety thump...thumpety thump...thumpety thump!

The Cow said ' what is this swelling on my head'-

the cat replied it's a ' Flippity Floppety Flumpety Bump'-

you see with the gravitational pull of our planet Earth-

the spoon hit you at great speed, you are lucky ...

Nonsense Comp

I Can't Take Anymore...(about TV)

I sit in my flat listening to the pouring rain - on the window pane.

The TV is on, what a pain-

Coronation Street is on again and again.

Ken Barlow has been in it for years - he must be bloody eghty four-

or more?

What about a good funny carry On Film from 1974?

...I can't take anymore!

I use my remote again and switch channels.

There is a political d...

Nobody...(following a divorce)

Nobody calls or knocks or texts or phones

Nobody to hear my fears, hopes or moans

Nobody to say Hey! I missed you today

Nobody to say don't worry love I will pay

Nobody to say hello or good morning dear

Nobody to help make one full of christmas cheer

Nobody to hold you with a loving warmth and care

Nobody to talk with, make love with and to share

Nobody to help, ...

My Next Poem...

This poem is not technically speaking my next poem.

However, it would have been-

if you had seen me writing my last poem,

you see my next poem will be the one I write after this one-

if you sort of know what I mean?

But it won't be my next poem when I'm actually composing it,

it will then be my current poem,

of course this poem would then become my last poem.

Love or Just Lust...

Is it Love - or is it just lust?

I hope it is - oh please, it must.

If not, it would seem so unjust.

We both so want and need that total trust-

that lovers share.

When they are both aroused and bare.

Is it Love - or is it just lust?

Is it Love - or is it just lust?

In each others arms and minds we must trust.

A cuddle in the car park-

A tender kiss ...

Togetherness...

Glowing embers, fallen ashes-

fine wine sipped from crystal glasses.

Both warm and cosy on the settee-

cuddling up close just you and me.

Candles flickering with music mellow-

of string quartet and a  fine bass cello.

I softly kiss and hold you tight-

whispering sweet nothings far into the night.

Another squeeze, a comforting hug-

as we gently sli...

I Think

I think of lot's of different things today

I think about loving and caring and sharing

I think about giving and hoping and living and dying

I think about our children's future and all their tomorrows

I think about our once proud nation - and what it has become

I think about disease and starvation of other poorer nations

I think about the sadness and devastation this must...

Now Broken

Now - a dreaming Broken man or woman clutching to-
broken hopes-
broken dreams-
broken promises-
of broken golden seams.

Now-
with those Broken lines-
upon those broken faces-
once so very smooth and fine-
once upon that lovely time.

Now-
like cried up-
fed up, all done and said,
prune like a dried up-
encrusted, broken diverte...
