cotton wool squeak
beneath my feet
crisp with cold
cut from ice
nose and mouth
vivid blue sky
the lake cupped
by mountain hands
in a caring gesture
frozen feet deep
covered with snow

How pained am I to have you haunting my dreams every night

Look over there,
Sat in that comfy reclining chair,
Is a man so wise and strong,
With so much knowledge which was seldom wrong.
The way his eyes would sparkle when he laughed,
And his cheesy smile on all his photographs.

The day you guys came along
I would never forget that D-day
We defined the word friends in a new way
Without you guys around, I would be on a highway.
How well could words describe our friendship
even pictures are just an indication
The story behind these pictures so precious
that I am eagerly waiting for times ahead.

Barefoot she walks along the beach
Retracing lost memories in ripples of sand
The murmur of the surf plays in her ears like muffled
notes bowed on a cello
the sun drips down behind
the cobalt waves casting shadows to equal those of
her longest night
Hushed colours paint her skin in hues of poignancy,
her heart beats in rhythm with the tide as she glides
through the surf
