Oh how we wish
to be back in the womb,
for times are bad
hearts full of gloom,
still the bell tolls
we ask for whom,
for all of us
we may assume.

In 2017 you commented on one of my poems. It's been a long time since I've wrote, and I have grown since then. I want to thank you for your kind words. It truly means a lot to me that you took more than a moment to consider my words during that time. I am now in a place of continued growth and becoming a better version of myself.
Thanks again Keith

Thank you for appreciating my words.
I'm glad that you agree with my thoughts. Its upsetting to see someone in deep trouble and it hurts like hell when you aren't able to help them. Words of condolence and encouragement can't do what kind actions can.
We do care and love irrespective of colour, creed, caste, religion, races and nation. I'm glad this is a sweet alternative to all the plight.
Love n Peace

Here I am
stabbing away at the keyboard
but my only thoughts are frivolous
one cannot be serious all the time
life is full of comedy
it lessens the tragedy.

You are always too kind.
If I were you
I would not associate with anyone like myself.

Hello Keith, fantastic autumn poem on Poetry Plus. Really enjoyed the beautiful language. I started WOL in 2017, and most of us have come on a great deal since then, I think. Found a poem new to me today. Titles, by John Richardson, whom I didn't know. It's not in the least pedantic. even though he was a Victorian poet, andvery amusing. Keep up the good work.
All the best, Jennifer

Not quite sure what you mean by
"hope you have not had a bad fall"
you mean the season or...
Was that your way of saying you think I'm not right?
Then again, maybe you ARE right.
Most of my poetry is unbalanced, slightly askew.
Wed 13th Oct 2021 17:10
Haven't been much on WOL lately, as been v busy with a much needed holiday, (no internet), and family health matters. Just wanted to say how much I liked your latest on Poetry Plus. By Which We are Known, A Silver-framed Photo, and especially Drenched in Duplicity. Fantastic title too. Was also v impressed with your review of Poems of the East. I have always liked and admired your writing, from the start, that is October 2017, when I joined WOL, and couldn't understand why at that time there was so little response! There was one about the sea some time ago, which I thought was fantastic. I'll try and find it again. Delighted that you are now being appreciated as deserved. All the best, Jennifer

The loss of Britain & America is a horrible thing to contemplate.
I fear for my grand-kids and the future generations.
All you have to do is look at any Socialist Country
and you can see the results it brings.
No money, No Freedom. No voice.

The English Culture is being deluded by foreigners.
How about your Mayor of London?
Now there's a real winner!
Wed 29th Sep 2021 15:39
Moved back to England?
I must have missed that post.
How do you like it now?
Mon 27th Sep 2021 02:36
are you still living in Spain?
Thu 23rd Sep 2021 16:15
Haha ! That's actual size, Keith 😄. And yes 50, there is a few who've said that, but I assure you I certainly feel it! Probably more like 60 sometimes!
Thanks for the constant encouragement

are you kidding me?
How in the world?
Mon 12th Jul 2021 13:17
I like your line...
"writing is the work of the soul".
Wed 7th Jul 2021 12:02
Thank you Keith for your comments on "Yard Work".
Nowadays, people shun physical work as if it's bad.
All they want to do is zoom calls. ha.
Physical work is equal to mental work.
It is a partner in our overall well-being.

You would know, having been in the military.
we waste our best and brightest-
we gain nothing in the end.

Thank you Keith. Little people should be added in the poem as well. I'll do that 🌷

In response to your comment, this quote has been one that really resonated with me:
“We are not minorities, we have been minoritized. We are not underrepresented, we have been historically excluded. “ - Janel Cubbage
I would never consider you a minority! I believe that many have been marginalised due to prejudices but that word doesn’t sit right with me at all, it makes me think something is less than... keep fighting against the inequalities and spreading awareness through your poetry ☺️

I just spotted your comment on my profile, thanks for that. I think it was t'other Tom who commented on your recent poem, but I did read and enjoy it.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and process. I genuinely find it really interesting and would love to grill more contributors about this stuff 😃
Whilst I'm not able to write exclusively with a pen, I know that the sheer pleasure of writing with a fountain pen on paper is what got me to write many of my poems. It's such a nice experience it encourages you to write something, anything, and often in this process I'll discover a poem buried that I didn't know was in me. In an almost divine intervention, I found a fountain pen in the street aged about 20 and not long after found an empty notebook on a bus journey. It sounds daft really but it was like the universe handed me these tools. I've never since found either of these objects just lying in the street.
I think I take inspiration from many of the same sources as you and the initial ideas are usually dictated into my phone as I'm walking down the street. I'm polishing up a poem at the moment written entirely on a walk home from work where I was inspired by a smell (which is a new one on me, I think). I love your work and always keep en eye out for it - though must admit I've not had much free time to visit WoL of late but I hope that will change soon. All the best, Tom.

ha. a funny response.
With all my poems
I sound the alarm
I hope they help
and do not harm,
but do not let
your heart be torn
they may lack sense
but do have charm.

Keith Jeffries continues to come to my site.
I have no idea why.
A glutten for punishment, I guess.
Sun 18th Apr 2021 11:03
over 6 feet? wow.
no wonder airplanes are bad for you.
and yes, the bathroom situation is not ideal on an airplane.
and where does it go?
Is that where rain comes from?

Rebirth & Resurrection.
Both themes of the poem.
Thank you for reading and sharing your deep thoughts.
Also, thanks for sticking with me.
I think YOU were my very "first responder"..

Thanks for reading "True Love"
I am shocked that you continue to come to my site.
But I welcome your response.
I see you are still wearing that gun holster
strapped to your chest.
You look like James Bond!

I admire your work.

I don't many pieces by Rachmaninoff but understand that they are quite difficult to play. A lot of Beethovens music is difficult too, but if you wanted Beethoven then I would suggest the Fur Elise, which short and pleasant to play.
However, I would generally recommend Mozart as most of his works are easier to play, such his Sonata in C , also known as his easy sonata. There are many other pieces by Mozart which are very nice and yet not too demanding.
If you need any more help or advice then let me know and I shall try to get back to you.
I hope this helps.
Kind regards from Stuart

A hospital gown
it does appear
can expose a lot
and look quite queer
some will laugh
some brought to tears
gown turned around
shows front not rear!
