I guess I'm just a little shy (believe it or not!)
The "disobedient" reference is to do with the technical style of writing, in that I do free verse mostly and I'm not a stickler for "obedient" verse as it's known in the more academic/elite circles. I believe the love of language, and the expression and entertainment of it is enough to make it poetry.
I love Moon Month BTW, it's very powerful and an original take on being "on the blob" : )

It was a bit of a poetic challenge I set myself and to try not and be crude and obvious, a bit tricky!

Hi Cynthia, thanks for the read and the comments :) My line breaks follow my thoughts which meander and can be chaotic, coming back to the original idea after a bit. I am not a huge fan of anything organized: religion, rhyme or lifestyle. Recently in a shopping mall in Dubai, I saw this kid claw the carpet, refusing to get up on being denied a phone. The mother couldn't get him off, so the reference to the spoon and child, or should I, at the risk of being politically incorrect, say a spoiled brat ;)

One person's 'oddball' is another person's thinker. I prefer the latter. I operate on an honesty level that doesn't sit well with many people. I think that's why I found it so hard to 'fit in' for so many years. I LOVE how your mind works :)

thanks for commenting on 'dragon's nest' Cynthia - yes - the perceived 'threat' of windfarms appear to be that they're unsightly and noisy - a glance below the soil or at the clouds may show us what the dirty alternative is ;-) appreciate you being so supportive

Hi Cynthia,
Thank you for your recent comments on my poems. I admire your work very much, in fact a line in one of your poems really inspired me to write a poem on a similar (or perhaps not so) subject.
I really appreciate your take on things.

p.s. the poem in question was 'Six Fifteen on a Rainy Evening' something about the curve of a thigh ;)

It would be more like 'Scumbag College' Cynthia (Young One's reference). I'm waiting for someone to identify the root language of 'Crow Tongue' it is based on a very specific form - but has been manipulated. Intrigue eh? Thanks so much for your kind comments again - I appreciate them greatly

Hi Cynthia - apologies for my tardiness in replying to your comments on 'song of the wandering' - I've been absent (without leave) for a couple of weeks - and spent little time close to my PC. Thanks so much for your (usual) insightful comments - it is a sad subject which does require careful consideration before approaching - I'm glad you think it worked - if it hadn't it could be seen as opportunistic or morbid - neither of which, I hope, are true.
I appreciate your comments
thanks
Ian

Hi Cynthia. I just read Hurricane and was bowled over by the sheer impact and word wizardry - almost Dhaliesque if I may say! It reminds me of a poem by Ted Hughes about wind - different style but yours makes a great treat of imagery. Ray

Hi Cynthia,
I wanted to thank you again for your considerate comments on 'Her Scent On Silk'. I was thrilled with your response and appreciate you taking a look.
I have edited to play with the layout and text size to see if it carries more impact.
As for sonnets, I find them quite addictive. I have only been writing for a year but I am certainly leaning towards Formal Poetry. I find it gives me more creativity, despite the restrictions.
Again, your encouraging words are appreciated.
Thank you.
Helen

Hello Cynthia
Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on both 'Take Away Love' and 'A&E'. Your opinion and comments are very much appreciated. I was a tad concerned about putting 'Take Away Love' out there and even sat my sons down to warn and explain what the content was really about. In response they just rolled their eyes!

Hi Cynthia The parallel between the Red Arrows and the geese was quite fortuitous. As I was thinking of John (my father in law) the geese flew past and it so happened that one of the many things he banged on about was what a waste of money those displays were. It's no more profound or complicated than that. There's also supposed to be a bit of gentle humour because he was a larger than life character who could often drive you mad when you were busy. Still, maybe my kids see me like that too!

Cynthia - many thanks for your kind words on 'Caught Out'.
I had never written a haiku before this and 'Crow' and had steered clear as I never truly understood them until I got the chance to research the history recently. I'm glad you enjoyed my efforts and took the time to read it more than once (which I now believe is the secret to this style).

Kind words Cynthia, thank you. Took a fair few months to kick into shape did Sophia, but I just couldn't let her lie. I'm going through a bit of an exploration of ageing at the moment - because of my growing (and sometimes painful) awareness of my own changes, in good, bad, interesting, and erm, challenging ways shall we say!
The idea that wisdom comes with age irritates me. It isn't automatic is it?
And yeh, you're right.

Hi Cynthia,
Thanks so much for reading & commenting on Finding Freya. Sad to hear you've had a couple of months with family illness & hope that improves soon. I really appreciate the time you take to read and comment. As you've noticed I can get a bit sloppy with punctuation etc, and I really appreciate reminders, and any suggestions at all so please when you have time keep reading & commenting,

thanks for your comments on college years. This is based on some recent observations when I was travelling on the train to Wigan one morning last autumn. I think the girls were a mixture of natural blonde and the current fashion for not so natural. See you soon at Sale.

Hi Cynthia
Far from being and 'encroachment' your insightful comments are as ever an encouragement. You seem to really 'get' my poems - which is not always the case with others! I'm at my mother's at the moment and asked her how come she had those books. I think she was just a victim of a 'hard sell'! They've long gone now , but I wouldn't actually mind reading them now as a 'grown up'.

Hi Cynthia Glad you liked 'The Teatime Bulletin'. The first draft was written some time late 70s/early 80s and I was thinking of updating it. In the end I thought there was no point. The names and places changed but the story stays the same.
