Hello Greg
Thanks for your thoughts on Borders. I spend a lot of time working away from home (well, not at the minute!) and I'd regularly go into a Borders after work and spend the evening reading a book, note where I'd got to, and continue the next night. I reckon I owe them a few hundred quid in lost sales.

Hi Iz - ta for having a look at Scrabble! Not quite sure how it can work on here. Will each word be new and self contained or like real scrabble where they all link up? I think I'd need visual aids for that!! Good luck for Saturday!! Hope your nails hold out! xx

Hi Rachel. I used to have a Lennon-flavoured poem on here but I took it off. I'm increasingly disinclined to put my poems on this site. I got two poems for the comp. I'm guessing you have too. I was at the Liver Bards last night in Liverpool with Liam Brayd, anotehr of the finalists. It's an unusual comp, I think. Good luck. We should have a few drinks together on Saturday. Isobel is in it too. Pip pip!

My signature colour of course - not sure if you'd call it pillar box or cherry - not sure if they will last till Saturday either - she couldn't fit me in any later. Am finding life intolerable with long nails - can't even unzip my flies... think I'll be filing them down before they ever drop off.

Hi Laura, i'm good at suggestions and not so good at putting them into practise :-)
It's not up to me to show how i would have set it out.
I just noticed that a few lines were very long without punctuation as i would have voiced it out loud. If you say the first line out loud yourself you'll see what i mean i think. It's in the pauses where i just thought that maybe if you look at the structure, it would emphasise some of the power.
Feel free to ignore. I'm certainly no expert. How are you by the way?
You've been quiet on here last couple of days.x

Hi Bernadette - so nice to have you back. So sorry to hear about your cat. I know that we can love a cat just as much as a person. I cried for two weeks when my tabby Sylvester died. I now have Gemma, twenty would you believe! She's hanging on in there! Don't know how I'll feel when she goes! Anyway, keep well and stick around! xxx

Hey Rache - lovely photo, but it's a shame the microphone is obscuring you a bit! Good luck for Saturday, sorry I can't make it! I went to the WOL weekend at Hebden Bridge, if there's another one maybe I might see you there? I had a really good time. I wish there was somewhere round here that I could perform at. Everyone there said "start your own" but I don't think I'd have the confidence for that. xx

Hi Isobel - cheers for the comment on Tunnel 3.. The piece addly wasn't wrote in mind of the chilean miners, although i can see what you are getting at certainly..
i was certainly writing about both elements of freedom you were writing about.. the piece isn't directly anti war, but the early draft certainly was.. thanks again xx

hi Elaine; - thanks for your comments on Tunnel 3... It's a un-usual topic what I have wrote about here certainly and not one everybody will know something about.
the story itself is fiction, but as with everything I write there is a element of truth in it, and the questions are questions i certainly would ask in that kind of situation - something honest and close to my heart..
glad you enjoyed the piece x (and the use of language as you pointed out is on purpose) xx

Congrats on poet of the month by the way - well deserved! xx
