Where Flowers Bloom

Who would expect

a flower to bloom

on cold concrete

with so little room

no soil, no place

to make a home

still like a weed

it roots and grows

Somehow a seed

got stuck between

the concrete where

it makes a seam

there on hard rock

it grew to be

a miracle

to be believed

We must make note

of this lone plant

that would not relent

on earth so scant

to bloom instead

as heaven sent

how it deserves

our compliments

Oh would that we

had such good faith

to persevere

in so sad a place

to then embrace

our given fate

a golden smile

upon our face.

A good theme, well expressed. I confess to wondering who decided
what plant is a "weed" and discarding it as being of little/no worth.
One might see that as happening in humanity.
