All There Is To See

When you get too old

to see

all the dust on the furniture

the cobwebs in the corner

the stains on your shirt

the expiration dates on food

the warnings on prescriptions

the ingredients

the front page

the street signs

the directions

the fine print

the fact your fly is open

then life is easier

because what you don't know

can't hurt you

until it does

but by then it is too late

and it does not matter

you've seen all there is

to see.

MC you've made my day you have
Why plus-like I do feel
Like you, an aging geriatric
Humour is my deal

This dk guy from Yankee land
Spurs me to write stuff
What would I do without him MC?
I'd have to write just fluff

How boring.....

Was it Bette Davis (or maybe Joan Crawford?) who observed that
old age ain't for sissies? I have the feeling that in making my
leisurely way towards 76, I have as much right to discuss the
subject as anyone - and probably more than most on WOL - and.
will offer assurance that possessing a sense of humour is a great plus towards looking after number one in later life.

d.k.,

A very philosophical poem tinged with good humour. I am fast approaching such an age with all its incumbent problems. A big yes to stains on my shirt.

Thanks for this
Keith
