Spoken word star Matt Abbott is guest poet at Write Out Loud Marsden tonight

Write Out Loud Marsden are starting 2017 with a bang, with leading spoken word artist Matt Abbott lined up as guest poet at Marsden library on Wednesday 18 January. Matt runs the spoken word label Nymphs & Thugs, is co-founder of A Firm of Poets, and has recently appeared on Nationwide building society adverts on national TV.  

One of his most popular poems is about an all-night pie shop in Wakefield. He recently celebrated 10 years as a spoken word artist, and in an interview with Write Out Loud he said: “Right now, the UK spoken word scene is an incredibly fun place to be, and I want to be as involved as I can.”

Entry is £2 to hear Matt and to read your own poetry, sing a song, or tell a short story. It starts at 7.30pm. More details and Map
