Do you know someone who loves poetry? If you do, why not send them a copy of our Write Out Loud poetry competition anthology Echoes? We're very proud of this anthology. The winners were chosen by renowned Bloodaxe Books editor Neil Astley, who knows a thing or two about producing anthologies himself. It's packed with poems that are thought-provoking and poignant, and all very different from each other.

Maybe you are in it, and already have your contributor's copy? Then why not alert family and friends to your success by sending them a copy, too. Here's the link to order fresh copies from the Write Out Loud bookshop.

This a crucial and vibrant organisation, and long may its brilliant work continue.”

In a foreword to our competition anthology Echoes, co-founder Dave Morgan talks of  Write Out Loud’s “founding principles … offering an open hand to newcomers, respecting their offerings, exposing them  to new ideas and encouraging dialogue between practitioners and audience. Long may it continue.”

Write Out Loud’s other co-founder, Julian Jordon, who continues to this day to work tirelessly as a director of Write Out Loud, says: “We have run countless poetry nights in cities and villages, in pubs  and galleries; organised workshops, set up translation sessions, held  schools’ groups and Big Poetry Writing Weekends, and a week’s Writing Poems for Performance course for the Arvon  Foundation. We created poster poems in shop windows in Marsden  and Bolton; and, of course our successful poetry competitions, ‘Echoes’ being but the latest.

“Must be a huge team, then? Nope. We are always short-handed and the website receives NO money from anywhere other than generous individuals. We hope this anniversary celebration will attract new people into the team and infuse it with their skills and enthusiasm to take Write Out Loud into an even brighter future.”
