The Language Of Love

entry picture

In Febuary's bloom, the month of love ,

sweet meats and fancies infused with a blush,

flowers in abundance adorned with grace,

sent to infuse the ardour of a secret place.

In bouquet's the words unspoken but true,

my feelings and wishes are portrayed to you,

all tied up with ribbons of silk,

sensual, tactile, perfumed delight,

awaken the senses, make light of my plight.

Red roses in dozens' send love and respect,

crowned with rose leaves, you may hope for me yet.

let them be of the thornless kind,

no blood be spilt on this love sublime,

shows how i loved thee at first sight.

Eyes bedazzled in beauty and light,

with spinklings of gypsum intwined in the petals fold

thy love is innocent, pure of heart, a beauty to behold.

Send them fresh for thy love be true,

for withered thy love will come back to you .

Add a note with mysteries shroud

and seal it with a kiss xxx

Beautiful poem Tracey, I like the classic Shakespeare style of language. Lots of romance in your words, love the second stanza Jeff X

What a tribute to Valentine's Day. A stimulating mix of past and present in its tiered terms of expression.
