I really love this, Ann, I think it says so much in just a few words. I well know the feeling too, as we have our fourth rescue dog. Wouldn't be without him now. I am sure your little one will soon realise his world has started with you. He/she is very cute. xx

I like this, Ann, even though I hate dogs. Good last line, although don't be fooled by that look - it just means they're about to break wind.
Also, glad you liked Assasseen. I do "creepy" so well!
I know what you mean about the apostrophe; it doesn't seem right on the ear even though grammatically it needs one somewhere.
