We’ve witnessed special highlights and some awkward moments too
As more than thirty August anniversaries by us flew;
But there’s no-one I would rather spend my life with more than you;
I love you, Judy Coopey, and suppose I always will.
Many thanks for all the best wishes.
Our Gert did not see the romantic side of a present of a poem instead of jewellery - "f*kin' tight-fisted, cheapskate b*ast*d" was her critique, I think. So No, Steve, the initial promise was not fulfilled (unless you count self-fulfillment).
The anniversary was, in fact our 31st and not 30th, but it didn't scan - another point of contention with the punctillious and impenetrable Mrs C.
Once again, many thanks. Next year, though, something from the Argos catalogue and no poem.
