North Korea remains one of the world’s most isolated and repressive states. 
For nearly eight decades, its people have lived under extreme surveillance, 
forced conformity, and brutal punishment, with little access to information, 
freedom of movement, or independent thought. The Inminban system monitors 
neighborhoods and even families, ensuring that fear and control permeate 
every aspect of daily life. Despite the oppression, quiet sparks of hope 
and courage persist among the population, yearning for freedom and a life 
beyond tyranny.

They carry the silence in their eyes,
yet in their hearts a murmur glows,
that no bars, no guard can erase.

Each step in forbidden alleys,
each quiet motion of the hand,
draws paths no one has yet walked.

A seed of freedom grows in the shadow of the Inminban*,
hidden voices, shared understanding,
silent gestures, quiet words—
the first steps on the road to dawn.

The walls of fear are high,
yet beneath the surface a current gathers,
invisible, fierce, unstoppable—
like a tsunami as the waters draw back,
before sweeping everything away.

Freedom cannot stay locked away forever:
humans are stronger than terror,
and even the most terrible night ends at dawn.

One spark is enough,
one glance, one word, one step—
and the chains begin to break,
the walls crumble under the surge,
that sweeps away the old injustice,
that drowns the Inminban and the reign of oppression forever.

Freedom will find its way. Have courage, show strength!

자유는 영원히 갇혀 있을 수 없다.
인간은 공포보다 강하다.
가장 무서운 밤도 마침내 새벽을 맞는다.

한 불씨면 충분하다.
한 눈빛, 한 말, 한 걸음—
쇠사슬이 부서지고,
물결의 힘 아래 벽들이 무너진다.
오랜 억압을 쓸어버리고,
인민반과 폭정의 그늘을 영원히 사라지게 하리라.
