It does seem to me that the current/recent crop of Tories in
government have gone off message regarding their original
position as the old conservative (with a small "c") political
party. But HM's Opposition doesn't appear much different.
In short, they both appear inclined to pay far more attention
elsewhere than to the concerns of the electorate here in these
put-upon over-populated financially-stretched islands. They
are both a pretty poor lot. Something radical is required to get
domestic UK politics back on track.
As a pensioner I am grateful for the Tory's triple lock policy which resulted in a 10% pension increase this year.
For the Tories to have been in power for thirteen years a good proportion of the professionals you list Uilliam will have voted Tory and undoubtedly some will be card carrying members of the Party. Something to think about eh?
