Oh Sweet Bird Of Youth

entry picture

Don't fall from your perch
Oh sweet bird of youth
For life doesn't always
Tell you the truth

There's many who lie
Deep in their lies
And hover around
Like unwanted flies

But, pay no heed
Oh sweet bird of youth
Ignore those who taunt
Or call you uncouth

For you are the blossom
The sweet morning dew
Unique to yourself
The most beautiful you!

You're the grain
In the woodwork
The smile
From a frown

The Up
From all
Who would
Knock you down

The sunset
The dawn
The twilight
Between

The conjurer
Of possible
The harvester
Of dreams

So, stay on your perch
Oh sweet bird of youth
One day you shall soar
And discover your truth!

Thank you Julie, Stephen, Bethany & Ursula. Written for my Daughter, even though she wont read it because she 'doesn't do poetry' 🤣
And thanks for the likes everyone. Always appreciated 🌷

Just Beautiful. Should be made into a poster, or bookmark to be read daily?!?
