SO LONELY - a lyric

I wonder, when she wakes in the morning

Has she been dreaming of me...

When the darkness makes way for the dawning

Is my face the face she would see?

I wonder, do her days feel longer

Are her nights over too soon.....

Does the memory of our love get stronger

When lit by the light of the moon?

My world is on hold and it seems that

There's little in life to be found

Except what I find in the dreams that

Console me when night comes around

I know when I wake I'm so lonely

And hers is the face that I see,

How happy I'd be if only

I knew she was dreaming of me.

........................................................................

(for female versions substitute "he" for "she").

Thanks Vautaw.
Some lines are added to bring a bit more to the theme and its
format.as a lyric and I'm now actively going for a melody to match!

Having discovered that a song of the title "I Wonder" appeared in 1945, I've decided to change the title of my lyric. No one wants to impinge on a title already in existence.

Thanks, gents. It's always pleasing to receive positive comments -
especially from those whose own work (and comments ?) I read
and enjoy.
Thanks are also due for the "likes" shown.
P.S. This reply also gave me the chance to amend a couple of "typos" I had overlooked,
so an additional "thank you" for that.
