Biography
I love the creative process. Watching an idea evolve from the mind onto the page. Feels good. Having traveled extensively in UK and Europe over the years I now live in my country of origin, Australia. I have been writing for 3 years. I occasionally write in prose but am drawn to rhyme. I write for my own enjoyment but you reach a point of wanting to share with others. My style may be different to what you expect. I work to my own rules - bending grammar, inventing non-existent words. Pushing boundaries. I am influenced by the following people: "The most damaging phrase in the English language is 'It's always been done this way'" (Grace Hopper - computer programming pioneer) "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind" (Dr Seuss) "As long as we allow convention to govern us we will never make progress" (me) "The next time your mind wanders, follow it around for a while" (Jessica Masterson) I look forward to my association with WOL.

Comma Dilemma I am a poet learning A poet in progress Learning alliteration Learning to assess I have my eyesight set on A rhymic peak I see Maybe I'll never get there At least not rapidly I poet that I know of Said it could take a year For her to sign a poem off As happy to her ear Oscar Wilde – all morning Spent taking out a comma Then all the 'noon restoring it - A wildish kind of drama Like Wilde I have frustrations Right words don't come about Where do the bloody commas go Where do I leave them out ? Thanks for the comment on H&M Don! From what the gossip mags say Episode 3 won't be far off! I suppose one could admire them for saying they want to be financially independent, even if I gather it is Prince Charles who is coughing up large sums to keep up their lifestyle. It just seems a pity about the family bust up, and I would think he might be a little lost in Hollywood after the novelty value has worn off. Let's hope I'm wrong.

Thank you Don. Your rhymes are good. Poems are hilarious still have deep meaning. To know you is difficult through your work. Like an ocean deep, your words have hidden mysteries. Yet, there is a drive to explore and discover those mysterious zones.

Don you might have read your version of it somewhere, but I specifically recall having seen the expression phrased as: A Picture Saves a thousand words. In other words, both of us could be right if there are 2 contexts. But thanx. Will check out the phrase elsewhere and if different to what I have just said will return to the arena. P.
