Sorrow

Even the arborial space 

Seemed to be sorrowful  

in its vernal  finery.

Hanging its many fingers 

Low and deep ,

Bowing to an invisible god 

whose anger and hate 

never truly dissipate  

but linger in the shadows 

waiting to spring out 

when least expected.
