Enhancings

Strolling through a florally abundant wood,

so airily enlightening, were those scented arisings

I thankfully breathed in, all that they were breathing out,

watching them, gently bowing to the will of the infiltrating breezes,

displaying their beautifulnesses, for the sake

of, every appreciative heart.

A small kindly heart

On a particular afternoon,

a good deed performing little boy

is freeing a trapped Pigeon

that somehow and foolishly so,

found its way into a tangled and disused Rabbit hutch

checking its body for wounds

stroking it and giving it a goodbye kiss

before uplifting and releasing the silly bird

into the company of passing clouds

in, he can only hope, is a homeward bound d...

A lovers agreement

At the point in time when I am dying

I know that you will fulfill your promise,

to bathe my body in precious unguents

in the same way you did for your Mother

such a beautiful showing of devotion it was

that I tearfully, repectfully, witnessed.

Your taking of each of her hands in turn

bathing each one, in sweet smelling fragrant oil

before rearranging them again, by her...

In praise of an obsolete pylon

Once bristling with electricity,

this condemned, having tapered to the sky giant

its structural bones made of a metal now a long way

from its original home in the earth

a carrier, of powerfully voltaged cables long ago

now rerouted below ground.

I actually wouldn't like it to be dismantled mostly,

for the sake of the early June arriving, Swallows that,

always gath...

Inexcusable

Forgive me love, but my hearts fire is dying

lingering in ember-like chains.

This damaging legacy does,

my soul sadly stain.

So loveless, a diversion, has extinguished,

your once high leaping flame,

now bereft of its brightness,

I kneel at the altar of tears,

praying for, Loves endless exiling,

of this burdening tyrant called Shame.

For the love of a Ghost

Married at eighteen,

divorced at twenty

married again and, this time for as long as time would allow

which as it turned out, wasn't going to be very long.

That late night exiting of the club

when you suddenly coughed up blood into your hankie

before falling down dying into the rain pooled road

I didn't get to hear about it until a few days later

being on a backpac...

Don't be a Politicians nodding Donkey

Have your awareness at the ready

when you see and hear him/her

verbally displaying

their sugary coated rhetorics

about liberty, peace, international brotherhood, etc etc etc.

Make it your sole purpose,

to see through their grovelling facades

their self stamped approving rights of way, into our lives, documents

very much needing, to be put under the microscope of truth,

Obliged to accept

Various unexpected occasions arise

where I get presented with yet, more and more gifts,

more it has been known

than those of every birthday and Christmas of mine, put together

and, with more regularity, than the appearance of Stars

there is no declining, oh no!

although being the fortunate owner of those I adore,

I still feel that I have to at least

be the custodi...
