Flutter Kicks
The first time I felt my baby kick,
It was nothing like they said.
It didn’t feel like butterflies, or
A quickening within.
It felt like nothing I’ve ever felt before.
It felt like my entire life would never be the same.
And it felt like the love of my life
Had just tapped on my shoulder
And whispered “I’m here”.

He's Not like the Others
He’s not like the others.
He doesn’t chase me around
He doesn’t crave my attention
Or get jealous of others.
He loves me humbly because he knows.
For he knows I love him too.
And
He loves me not for the pieces of me
That are usually pursued.
But for the pieces of me that
He has already captured.
