Back in time for Christmas!

Don, in what way did my poem on Coarse Work, offend?
And since you described it as 'what a load of rubbish,' it would be really nice to have your constructive take on it.
Might prevent my going down a dodgy road again in future. P.

So, at last, we can rest at ease
you are not a victim of that nasty disease.
If I had the dosh and the stupidity to boot
I'd jump on a plane that would be a hoot
sitting for hours with a mask over my face
and finally at last with gods grace
we could sit in that cafe and drink coffee and chat
about righting the wrongs and stuff like that
I miss the banter and weird exchanges
bugger I can't think of a good ending
Still your here and your OK
Nothing else to say, mate

Thanks for commenting on that 'clucking' poem. Always good having some levity. Appreciated. P. 👍

Thanks for the comment on H&M Don! From what the gossip mags say Episode 3 won't be far off! I suppose one could admire them for saying they want to be financially independent, even if I gather it is Prince Charles who is coughing up large sums to keep up their lifestyle. It just seems a pity about the family bust up, and I would think he might be a little lost in Hollywood after the novelty value has worn off. Let's hope I'm wrong.

Don - Cat's eyes - thanks. And Thalia asked me to enquire how you were doing with all this Novo scare. Are you under house arrest yet like those of us in Blighty? Coming in the wake of the Oz fires, it's the last thing you would have wished for eh.😕

Don - nothing more exciting than having your new shoes being delivered by Shoe Zone. And, I was very excited to hear that you were excited to hear about it. It was so exciting in fact I drowsed off in the chair with the excitement of it.

Hello Don - am I right in recalling you mentioning Adelaide as your
part of the world? I've just been watching the cycle race Tour Down
Under on Freesport TV here in the UK - featuring the countryside
around Adelaide. A big event in a big country, given big attention.
AND won by a certain big name: Richie Porte. Hurrah!

Thank you Don. Your rhymes are good. Poems are hilarious still have deep meaning. To know you is difficult through your work. Like an ocean deep, your words have hidden mysteries. Yet, there is a drive to explore and discover those mysterious zones.
Fri 3rd Jan 2020 23:13
Don you might have read your version of it somewhere, but I specifically recall having seen the expression phrased as: A Picture Saves a thousand words. In other words, both of us could be right if there are 2 contexts. But thanx. Will check out the phrase elsewhere and if different to what I have just said will return to the arena. P.

You don't see what has been on our TV the last few weeks
Sometimes, some times we reach the mainstream news, most of the time, thankfully we don't.
It's why I come here to write, and more importantly read and ride the roller coaster of life.

Don - re Junk Mail - the big difference with your system and ours is that we have to provide an A4 page and envelope - requesting opt out (back through the postal system) every 2 years. With 41,000 residential homes (not including business premises) occupied, in my area alone we are talking big numbers of felled trees nationally over a single generational lifetime - and that is before we even get to the question of the junk mail itself. I know of no other country that does this in the English speaking world - and where the post office ignores the householders request in writing (usually a sign) on the door. It is a total farce - even 3rd world countries are showing better recycling ummph than ours. Makes me so cross. 😡

Hi Don - Brewing Up. Certainly is politics and driving us absolutely potty with the different takes of MP input and delay. Politicians all seemed to have reached a new level of public disapproval - and it will take them a very long time to regain their street cred if they ever will. But I for sure, am not the lone voice in the wilderness. P 😫

Hello Don. Thank you for commenting on my poem.
I think we're all developing all the time as poets. I cringe at my early stuff but it was all part of a process or an ascent, to use your analogy - though I'm not sure I'll ever make it to where I'd like to be.
I used to live in Ausyralia. It's a beautiful country. You'll have to open an open mic night there! If you don't already go to one!
