Hey Hugh,

Had the pleasure of meeting yourself in Manchester a few weeks ago, during which you shared some poetry with me. I've had the chance to look at the rest of your work and am equally impressed by your art.

Cheers,
Zo (young chap in the blue shirt having come back from football))

I had the pleasure of meeting you today and listening to your beautiful poem on hijab. As a hijabi the words were heartfelt and dearly appreciated. It’s always a beautiful thing when you meet strangers that spread love and kindness in a world where it seems people were born to hate. Thank you for letting me and my friends listen to your poem and life advice, it really made our day that much brighter, and has encouraged us to pay the kindness recieved forward. I wish you all the best in the future, Kind Regards, a fellow stranger ❤️

Hi Hugh! Loved 'First Class Move' . The funniest things happen when flying. I was going out to board a plane once, and it looked really shabby and old, so much so that one did wonder........... There was a little Japanese businessman in front of me, who stopped in his tracks with dismay. The pilot, a lovely Irishman with a shock of red curls, stopped, patted him consolingly on the shoulder, and said, 'don't worry sir, all the big pieces are there'! Then we took ages over time to land, going round and round, so again I wondered if the landing carriage was blocked or worse. Then, there was only a curtain screening the cockpit, and as I was near the front I could see in when the hostess went up. The same pilot was sitting with his feet on the console, hat tipped forward, a drink in one hand and the other arm round the hostess. So I relaxed!!!!!Keep up the good work!
Jennifer

Hugh stands precariously
on one foot,
if he falls in the river
he is kaput!

It wasn't Hugh-
it was me!

Hugh - your experience with the guy and the bull mastiffs
he apparently let run free must have been both frightening and distressing - and without a resolution.
I'm sure you'll know that those who let such animals loose
to the danger of others are contravening the law and his
response to your reasonable request indicates he knew
of his culpability and wanted to escape the possible albeit
(these days!) unlikely consequences. However, that said,
you might be able to obtain some satisfying grievance
redress by reporting the incident (public interest/safety)
to the letters column of the local 'paper and to the local
police for their awareness of the risk this man presents to
vulnerable others in public. After all, his behaviour was hardly that of a responsible adult, let alone dog owner!
They do say revenge is a dish best served cold. ?
