Hi Ann Thanks for feedback on the Hockney trees. Still tinkering with it really and have now posted slightly different version. I don't usually write to order - never thought I could - but was asked to do something for Ferens Gallery in Hull where this painting is now on display.

Good to hear from you again, Ann. I haven't been here for quite a while! Yes, he's a bit of a character. I put this one on to contrast with my previous post bercause I got into an interest dialogue with Cynthia about it - 'Whiskey'.

Bet your Ripper poem's not as downright shocking as mine!
I thought doing funny's easy for me so I thought I'd try something different.
I reckon a writer's job is to make the reader think and feel what he/she wants them to think/feel.
So I thought I'd try "shocked".

Hi Ann.
I'm not sure if my reply to your welcome message actually got through and I would hate for anyone to think I was just being ignorant and couldn't be bothered to reply. Hence I have changed the profile pic and added a couple of other offerings via the blog.(I am only now beginning to learn how this sight works) NOW!! Off into the ether with you comment and we'll see what this electronic pigeon brings back.

Nope, all your participles are present and correct, as are your adjectives. I'm impressed. Mine took me aaaages! I had to keep double checking heh :D

The only tiny point I would make is that those last PPs should be related to the last noun, according to the rules I've read. But as Cynthia says, it's really quite flexible.

Eh up Ann - aye, give the diamante idea a go. It's a really good exercise and had me scratching my head checking and rechecking my present participles and adjectives. I used to know all that years ago! I might have a go at a few more actually, now that I've worked out an easier way to proceed than the last few days of head-scratchin! :D

Mentally preparing myself for Kendal Calling festival this coming weekend! I was at a rather more civilised festival last weekend held at Hartington YHA and even queuing for the indoor cubicles reminded me of the full horrors awaiting me!

Hi, Ann, and thanks for the comments on 'Eye of the Beholder' -- I agree about the equality of all creatures, as well! Sometimes, other creatures don't, though ... I once had a cat who thought she was God, and we've now got a blackbird, 'Enry Cooper, in the garden, who thinks he owns the place ...

Good morning Ann.As to my clothes being'loud and never square' you would have been right had this been the sixties. One fad in that era was emulating the Hendrix style,I can just see myself now long black trenchcoat, stripey flare jeans, white patent leather slip-ons,
pyschedelic shirt complete with cravat, and a backcombed hairstyle that stood up twice as long as Ken Dodds(hair) and sporting a mexican moustache.Dressed in that fashion I once walked into the vault of our local pub, mostly frequented by flat cappers and ferret lovers.I have always wondered why a hush suddenly fell over the room? as for my present day sackcloth attire?well at least it matches the dozen hairs on my head-not to mention my skin-all over(as it usually is) cheers-Stef.xx

Hi Re: Gondwanaland - who knows for sure when earth will blow up with the sun and thus decide the fate of man as boffins predict. Then whoosh obliteration unless of course representatives of mankind manage to voyage into the unexplored beyond and repopulate somewhere else. Hope my toes are well turned up by then. Much obliged for the comments.

I know what you mean about susan boyle, but when I heard Wild Horses on the radio I thought it was joss stone or somebody, not some old bat (sorry - did I say old bat -oops)
anyway, the point is, without knowing who it was, I was amazed. As for Paulino - well, you'r entitled to your opnion - it's not cause he's just a bit of eye-candy is it ?? Noooo.
I mean, I like Jen. Lopez, but I wouldn't say she's the world's greatest singer :)
we can agree about YES

I had one roy harper album - though I was never a massive fan - it stemmed from the groundhogs & led zep who both thought he was god. YES = I still like very much upto close to the edge, but for me it gets too "up yerself" after that (sorry). yes album & fragile are still up there with the best of em.
Paolo Nutella's a bit shite [sorry - I tried to let you down slowly, but you know me :) ]
surprisingly (I guess) susan boyle, avril lavigne, sheryl crowe are a few of those I rate at the moment - but, each to his own.
For me a lot of the worst stuff is the over-earnest worthy worthy worthy male band shit like coldplay, kasabian, franz ferdinand, arctic monkeys,(it's just so effing whiney & lame I feel like telling them all just to shut the F up or they'll get a slap) - yes, I know I'm an opinionated git. Then if you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel, you've got Nickelback... Arrgghh !
someone burn out my ears with redhot pokers PLEEZE. (just a mini-rant)

Hello Ann re Late Night Trains I travelled overnight on the Blue Train from Joburg to The Cape (1500k) a couple of times some years back and was astonished to see that we had armed guards on board who were quick to make their rifles obvious when we arrived at some of the outback stations. Small wonder Agatha Christie and other authors found trains so compelling to write about - they create an atmosphere all of their own. Thanks very much for commenting.
