Yeah! But then they all go down the pub! I like to pretend they are all my friends! Don't you? ;)
... with friends like them, I really wouldn't need any enemies, now would I ??

'I used this as team name in a pub quiz once. ha ha!'...I used the name 'wet wet wet' in a quiz at a summer camp- there were three in the teem and we all got drenched (tents) then 6 months later a Scottish band emerged with the same name!

Hello & many thanks for your comments on "Luxury". Yes, I have read lots of Woolf. The issue with time is as you know one I've been struggling with lately so it all came so naturally - I had to write something about it! XXX

Hello Marianne,
Thanks for reading and commenting on Ken Dodd...
I've used "In First Place" as a quiz team name before. Very confusing when they announce the winners and losers

Hi Ann!
We nicked the idea from some other town, but now can't remember where?! In another life I was used to running quite complicated projects, so the admin side has been OK. I got the Town Centre Manager involved, made sure we were co-ordinated with the Town Festival and then cold called the shops, emphasising that the cost to them was nothing and that people would be looking in their windows and more likely to buy their goods! Hey presto, 30 shops were easily got....
The poets are members of the North Herts Stnaza of the Poetry Society so I know their standard and one of the shopkeepers came up with his own stuff which was pretty good!
The poems will be up 11/06 to 26/06 in fair Letchworth town : )

Laura, thank you for the comments. I just want you to know I agree with you about taking time out to work on what I've already written. I need to set aside a lot more time to do that, it's just hard to find that time right now. I will be thinking of you on Sunday's while I am editing my work and I'll try to do more of it.

Hello - I was interested to read about the project in Letchworth, having poems in shop windows sounds really good! Do let us know how it goes. Was it difficult to co-ordinate? How did you find the poets, choose the poems, get the shop keepers interested? I don't quite feel up to starting a WOL in Cornwall where I live (maybe one day!) but this seems like a good way to maybe start getting some interest going. Oh, and welcome to WOL by the way! :)

Hi Gareth,
The gig guide is not quite as searchable as we would like - wil be better soon - but I have had a quick look through the towns list. Not sure what counts as North Herts but I am guessing Hitchin, Stevenage area? Cambridge has quite a few events. Anyhow, if you go to the gig guide and type the following into search, you might find what you are looking for, the other thing to bear in mind is that new events are coming in at around five a day, so keep watching. And you might want to set your own up. Give me a shout if you do want to do so, perhaps we can help. we will certainly give you what support we can.
there have been events from time to time in
Hitchin, Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard, St Albans, Stony Stratford and Ware. so it is worth searching the website from time for these places and Northampton too has a regular event.
