Oh! I see my mistake now John. I thought they were your views and not those of another poet posted last February that you have dragged back for some god knows why reason.
Then I noticed that you have recently turned your profile into a David Moore tribute page. Now it all makes sense.
So let me tell you where I am. I’ll not create another battlefield here on WOL with you.
My advice, not that I suspect you’ll take it is, please take care and keep your comments to other’s work. You might also feel like apologising to the person whose comments you’ve plagiarised too.
As for me.....none taken!

Re how to shop for shoes. Enter any shoe shop at any time, spend as long as you like deliberating and buy as many pairs as you can afford and find cupboard space for, sometimes breaking all of those rules with your own 4 inch stiletto heels.

Thanks for your comment Isobel, that's very kind of you. ? I'm loving reading the little insights people are adding to Graham's discussion topic. The way/how people create definitely does pique my curiosity (nosiness?).

As for your poem yesterday, I absolutely agree and had been thinking about a similar one expressing my wondering of all the poets on WoL whose work remains but they themselves have moved on. When I get time I love to jump back in time on this site and discover poems from those who aren't posting daily. I often discover fantastic pieces of writing. I might comment on them or like them never sure whether the author will ever see it or if they're even still alive. How to sum all this up in a poem, well, I'll have to wait for inspiration to strike... ? Tom.

It's funny but before I'd even read Graham's comment I thought how lovely and refreshing your profile writeup was. A poet who's actually interested in how other people think and create. Not everyone is and you meet many on the poetry scene who aren't there to listen at all.

Thanks for commenting on my poem Tom. I very much enjoyed your Cooling Towers poem - a relationship poem with some depth and originality.

Listening to the profile tune and got a bit lost. Enjoyed the melody, tempo and your voice. Are you also the instrumentalist? If so, great delivery. If no, still good. Some things don't come immediately. Would you agree Michael?

Creasote is the word I hear you say. It's used to preserve wood utility poles. I believe it is deemed poisonous here in Western WA. I just now see there is a medicinal creasote bush that provides a resin for the wood preservative. Wow, I am still learning stuff. Never heard of a creasote bush before a few minutes ago.

Kinda feel it is a love song, but haven't figured out how. I got stuck on preserved poles and medicinal bushes. Maybe, just a little more time. ?

Hello Don. Thank you for commenting on my poem.
I think we're all developing all the time as poets. I cringe at my early stuff but it was all part of a process or an ascent, to use your analogy - though I'm not sure I'll ever make it to where I'd like to be.

Thanks for the comment on The Way I Write, Keith.

The poem was inspired backwards, it was thinking about those potential friends you cross paths with occasionally and wish you'd got to find out the story you feel there is between you (but for whatever reason don't get chance). It struck me that I feel the same way about some of the poem titles I've been dragging along with me for months or years; so sure that there is a poem there somewhere.

I can relate to your description of how inspiration can strike and how there can be langurs between those moments. I also love those times when you put pen to paper without any prior inspiration and suddenly find that you have poem fully formed right there. Though, those times are fewer and farther between.

Regardless, thank you for sharing your process. I really hope other people might too. Tom.

Some may agree this subject, 'Color Matters'
is infuriating, frustrating and downright annoying.
These experiences are not ouchies, that first appear
in the body. These grouped emotions start up stairs
and may become headaches and body maladies.

I hear you loud and clear!
White Black Pink Ochre
Rough Dry Baggy Firm
skins don't matter to me,
and it's not about skin tone.
My tone is paper bag brown.
What do you name yours?

It's about generations of families
severed from their rich cultures,
deprived of their native languages,
and given Jesus Christ to worship.
400 years later we watch Wakanda
and munch on hot buttered popcorn.

It's about Native American Indians. STOP!
Think about that. They certainly are natives.
American because of Mr. Vespucius.
Indian because of a geographical error.
90% of them were killed purposefully,
some not, by folks wanting to own land.

Physical, emotional and spiritual abuse
starvation deprivation and outright murder
may have long lasting affects (or is it effects),
on someone's outcome. What do you think?

It's about feeling it in my bones,
not just reading or thinking about it.

'Color Matters' is not just about Indians and cowboys,
or Crayola hues. It's really about Black and White.
This is North America, where one(1) drop of African
blood makes you black. You ever hear such nonsense
where you live? This won't be found in current law books,
but it lives on, in the heads of many here in the U.S of A.

M.C. Newberry, I don't know your racial heritage
and do know the adage about birds of a feather.
It has been that way AND change is quickening.
Each successive generation is more tuned in.
Old farts like me still cling to the past,
and need to step aside.

So many young people connecting in/with/for life/communion/love awakening.

M.C. Newberry, I heartily thank you for the thought-full
response to my work and will respond to any and all other comments. I did not know what identifying name you'd prefer, so I used the name in front of me.

Blessings abound,
f

Keith, I hear you loud and clear and thank you for commenting on my 'Color Matters'.

As long as there is belief in 'the other', it will always be an enigma of sorts. Sages, healers, guiding spirits all talk about the 'oneness of life, love, matter, the flow beneath appearance.
Continued belief in the 3-dimensional realm, prevents us from knowing oneness of being. Some of us dart in and out of knowing. Some of us may never know. Maybe the Dalai Lama has a foot in each world continuously.

Keith, that is my simple take on this matter.
