I haven't a clue if it was meant to be me or not. What was it on? I get around, but can't see why I should be mentioned on tv.

Thanks again for your comment Cynthia. Have just printed off those definitions. It sounds very restrictive. If I get time I will try to apply some rules to my poetry. Read too many Mills and Boons as a girl - I just can't help writing from the heart. Applying rules is like putting rubber bands round it. How poetic is that?

Hi anthony
thanks again fro your comments and advice on my latest blog. I spotted a couple of typos and changed a word or two, I wouldn't mind you having another read and see if it's better or whether you would further edit - I've always shied away from editing my own stuff!
Cheers

Never have to 'hire' private taxis chuck - get enough offers of a free lift. Whether it were male or female driver would make a HUGE diffference. With a woman, front seat, having a chin wag. With a man, definitely back seat...

Hi Winston
I truly appreciate your comment on 'Time Flues'. I enjoy reading your writing, but feel somewhat inadequate when it comes to commenting.
For some reason, I also particularly like the verse that you highlighted
Thanks again. Perhaps our paths will cross at a reading. I have just 'read' for the 1st time. I think Hebden Bridge is about the furthest I may venture, not having a passport to get out of Yorkshire. I'll have to try and get enough bottle to stand up again.

Hi Yolande
Glad you enjoyed 'Time Flues'. I'm embarrassed to tell you that this was Dewsbury in the 50's. We were always a bit behind the times here.
I really do appreciate your comment, and hope you enjoy the cross-over from music to poetry. I can't hold a note, so I can't cross back.
Steve

Hi Anthony, thanks for your comment on Our Gramps. I took you and Janet up on your suggestion to put it to music, and wrote a tune in the middle of last night for it! {Dont you just hate it when the muse strikes you at 4 in the morning} I might get round to singing it at the Tudor sometimes!

Thank you for your comment Cynthia. I have read very many of your poems and consider you to be a talented and clever lady - I am therefore touched that you should like my poem. Much of my poetry comes direct from the heart and therefore I don't give much thought to structure. I am not that well educated in poetry so don't know the difference between a cinquain and a tanka - but I will research them for future reference.
Thank you.

Just discovered your stuff, which I like, especially Duck-House Parliament. What a fascinating character Cromwell is. It isn't fashionable to speak well of him, but he had remarkable qualities didn't he.

Thanks for your comment on my Carbon Footprint poem Christine. I was just enjoying your pole dancing job interview poem - it looks like something that could work really well in a live reading. If you're interested, I'm doing a free show at the Ilkley Literature Festival Fringe this year. The date's not definite yet, but probably on October 6th.
Keep those poems coming!

hi Emma, yeah be lovely to meet you, will be at Freed Up this thursday. Yes most of my poems do rhyme, the rhythm (all the hard words lol) helps when I'm performing live to remember them, well sometimes anyway!
I'll keep an eye out for any work you do, the feedback does help, just be careful with the spelling, it can make a massive difference and if its wrong it stands out mile and can ruin an otherwise good poem!
I even wrote a poem last year 'Queens English RIP' because of number of people who get you're and your mixed up, drives me mad! JeffX

Hi Dave,
Thanks for reading and commenting on Shhh - glad you liked it. Trusting someone with those little bits of your life/thoughts etc that have the capacity to hurt, can be scary - one reason, I suspect, that so many of us choose to do it through poetry!

I watched his piece on gays in the military but it was enough. i didn't really understand if he was having a go at 'gays' or the american military both or what. just not my thing, ok rant at me all you guys, tell me he's not this or that, maybe it's all too ironic and i just don't get it or maybe all the commments i read are right and he was a homophobic mysogynist. i don't know all i know is that i don't get it and maybe i'm in the wrong place here. i can't get my head around it and i don't think watching another hour of him will make much difference. i don't like discrimanation of anyone there's enough crap going on in the world without having a go at someone for thier sexuality or gender.i just don't get it and i'm not a christian or a gideon my tenets are if it harm none, do what you will.

Hi Cate
Thanks for your comment on my revisitation to Time Flues. I've eaten humble pie (a large portion) for CBT. Whether she's still my friend, I'll have to wait and see.
The funny thing is, the original version was quite different to what I would normally try.
Is there a home truth in that?
