Hazel, I happened to stumble upon your profile. Call it serendipity. The universe moves in mysterious way I guess, all we have to do is be receptive.
I'd like to know more about your Mindfulness practice.
Then I would like to share my beliefs on it.

Just to say thanks for liking World of Plastic AM. A beacon of interest is always nice in a sea of indifference. I just read your sample poem, and would like to say I admire the feistiness and resilience of soul that it expresses. Some clever lines, a sort of rally cry. Go for it!!

Hi Paul, yes Art was, sadly, a junky for many years and also got dragged into armed robbery, but he did straighten himself out and had a great comeback later in life.

Thanks for your retrospective comment on I wanna be like Elvis Lynn. That's just a wonderful tale and a great experience. I've worked as a pianist with a few Elvis impersonators and his spell still reigns. Lucky you! Did you score on the plane or while grounded? (You needn't answer that!)

(just in case you miss this on my blog, thought I'd post it here, too).
Thanks Lynn, you are totally right. And, I'm sure you'll know from your work in the world of entertainment, laughter is genuinely infectious!
I once taught a session on laughter to groups of patients with chronic pain. In my opening spiel, I described a scenario and asked the group to try hard not to laugh. Always, once one person smirked, chuckled or laughed, the whole group started and it really set the scene for people to 'let go', often for the first time in ages. People would say that they felt like their 'old selves' again and yearned to regain their sense of humour. Powerful stuff this laughter treatment! Thanks again. Paul

Hi again Andy. I've just read your post here. I am so grateful that you have taken the time to write. You have made me think....maybe writing lyrics has helped with writing poetry, especially in terms of rhythm and, yes, music can be an inspiration to write.
It seems strange that, although I've had research published (and football articles), I did not feel my poetry skills were honed enough to seek publication. But, after just a few days on WoL, I feel very inspired and encouraged by the feedback from yourself and a few others. It's a great community to be part of.
Thanks again, and good luck to you, too. Yes, it really would be good to meet up at some point in future.
Finally, very best wishes if you celebrate Christmas. My partner and I are strict bah-humbuggers! Paul

You know, the mind is an odd thing. I recently heard (through a post here on WoL) of someone who referred to Hitler as a house painter. Read some time on the "Red House Report" or maybe about the gas chambers--"the little red house" or the "little white house" at Auschwitz-Birkenau.

ps
Sellers' comedy was brilliant. It seems to me that comedy isn't only meant to make people laugh--it should also make them examine the world around them a little more closely. Though, it's likely that those who would've benefited most from understanding it simply couldn't understand it.

Hi Paul, A similar story here from me on poetry, thought different life. I think life have given me the experiences to now go out there and express my views. I sense the same spirit. I really like your style writing too.
My poems often come from listening to music first, I wonder if your work still has that underlying backing sounds from your early years.
Good luck and hopefully we will bump into each other in the real world and not just the virtual.

Love it it Kwin.
You have opened that cage and invited the other to come out and soar free with gay abandon. After the struggle, the release. And then restoration!
Strangely enough the stifling, snooty corporate world has brought both of us here. This is my shrine.
Nice work. Keep on magnetizing and manifesting that wonderful soul within.
Love&Light.

Hi Laura. Thanks so much for your congrats on POTW. A wee bit of the old kudos goes a long way! I hope you enjoyed your trip down south. The home fires are definitely burning. Trouble is I found some queen wasps on a lot I ordered, and they ended up flying round the lounge!
Happy Xmas m'lady. x

Well done on poem of the week, though The Cuckoo... Is still my favourite. Danny Boyle was a founder of Home in Manchester, a great place and somewhere close to my heart, he is gearing up for Trainspotting 2, I expect he will do a q&a there. Do not know himself though.
