LIFE'S LOTTERY

These lines form a comment of mine elsewhere on WOL.

Life is a frail and passing thing,

To which, like love and hope, we cling.

When healthy we barely spare a thought

For that which fate and fortune have brought;

But all things must come to an end

And our pleasure must be in the spend.

Thanks, John - the short version has to be "make the most of life
while you have it".

Wonderfully wise words, here, MC, beautifully encapsulated in six inspirational lines.

Thanks for sharing them.

However, in this modern world that encourages 'spend, spend, spend', my parents' post-war legacy indoctrination of 'save for a rainy day' regularly presents me with a certain guilt in over-subscribing to your good advice, here. ?
