Birthday Flowers

entry picture

Harsh words were spoken

A vase was then broken

Their only shared token

Of love

She'd waited for hours

For him to bring flowers

But instead he'd brought

Gardening gloves

This is not what she needs

Yet a packet of seeds

Is her gift

He'd practically bought

Without loving thought

And that was the

Start of their rift

missed opportunity for romance

Don, I should have known something less practical would hit the right spot. That was more than 20 years ago in London.

These days I hand out quality, dark chocolate bars. It serves the receiver quite well, most times.

I'm an Aquarian. Quiet and laid-back. Is that why Thalia and I work well? ?

Ah Fred Happy Belated Birthday, it wasn't too many weeks ago, when was it? Apron and cookbook is not that bad seeing as she was a chef, but if you had got one other Non essential/practical that would have been perfect ( big virgo trait). Thanks for reading

You didn't know of such vouchers? Google for nearest 'Rid your Rubbish' company.....?

Ruth, this one gave me a smiley remembrance. It was my friend's birthday. She was a chef and I am a Virgo. I got her a cookbook and an apron, and that was the start of our rift. ?

Oh Nigel this was sweet of you
You will have won her heart
She wears them both to bed each night
Not from her bod they part

She will cherish them and you forever....?

Flowers will not last
but on each glove
I scratched a message
to remind you of - - -

holding hands in the potting shed.

Really Hugh? You've seen daffodils today? That's another sign of climate change!

Flowers are like friends, they bring colour to our world,
While out walking this morning ,two daffs on the horizon unfurled.

Love it Ruth but the rhythm changes towards the end which for me doesn't work.
