No Star Was Seen

To You who art

To me, when I see

The made star night

Looming, enfolding,

Displacing the confusion

Of maps and charts.

A darkness that is as light

As the day when

The sweat and the blood

Tasted by a dying thief

Glistened, glistened, glistened,

While the hot sky

Darkened, darkened, darkened.

No star was seen

But looming,

Falling, falling, was felt

The anger, displaced

From me to You

Who art.

From the darkness there shall be light.

Fish, I had an inkling as to the subject of this poem, and your response confirms my reading of it. At the time I read this one, I was a bit exhausted shall I say. Thank you.

Thank -you - Keith
Maybe it leads to and through the veil that was torn from top to bottom.

Thank you Devon - good to be praised by someone who gets the importance of structure and rhythm in poetry. It would surprise me if indeed you didn't know the story behind it. But then perhaps these days it could be.
Go well

Fish, the opacity of this poem is wonderful and as Keith said, intriguing. The rhythms are solid and build to crescendo'ed repetition of "glistening" and "darkened". Pressure and release, one of the hallmarks of great music. I, for one, don't need to know the story behind this. Don't want to, really. I find my own meaning in it. Thanks.

A curious poem with undertones which need unravelling. I shall have to read this a few times as I am intrigued. It seems to be leading the reader somewhere and I have my suspicions where....

Thank you for this

Keith
