They Be The Worst (Apologies to Mr. L.)

They fuck you up, these brexit turds,

it's what they're born to, that's their rôle;

they fill you with their empty words

much as they shit into your soul.

Of course, they've heard it all before,

from parents - and grandparents too:

"compassion's out! You must abhor

those migrants, or they'll overrun you."

Racists perpetuate themselves

and make others like them, through fear;

they'd rather continental shelves

subducted i.e. just disappear!

Hm, just like its subject matter, my piece of doggerel seems to have stirred up a bit of a hornet's nest here. Some likes, some dislikes. At the end of the day, it's just one small opinion. It's not going to change the world. It's not even going to make it into my first collection. Hey, it's not even original.

Provocative...as, no doubt, it is intended to be. The fear continues.
So...let's subordinate our head of state, The Queen, to the whims and wishes of a political entity comprised of 27 other "member
states" (what happened to the word "nation"?), aided & abetted
-MINUS a UK electoral mandate - by the "Remainer" MPs who were
...and are willing to subvert their oath of allegiance to the sovereign
in the process of pursuing their personal grandiose Walter Mitty/
Euroland fantasy in which the word "elected" is subservient to the
word "appointed". Check the new leaders of "the project" for
what is done there, supposedly in our name...bearing in mind that
we are still members of that entity.

Oh, those not so Great Brexectations. When will this fiasco end we ask ourselves? A good no holds barred poem. Thank you. Jemima.
