Guest poets Robert Garnham and Annum Salman will be performing along with a great number of open-mic poets over five hours at Poetry Day on Saturday 27 April at Woking literary festival. This is the third year that Write Loud Woking comperes Greg Freeman and Rodney Wood have been organising the poetry event in the cafe at the LIghtbox museum and art gallery in Woking.

Greg said: “We started off with three hours in the first year. Last year it went up to four, and now it’s been increased to five. We must be doing something right!” Shortly after last year’s event Write Out Loud Woking moved its monthly open mic night to the Lightbox as well. Contact Greg Freeman at gregfreem62@gmail.com if you want to book a five-minute slot – there are still a few left. More details

In another Poetry Day event at Woking literary festival, children’s performance poet and playwright Joseph Coelho will lead an inter-active, family-friendly poetry session, taking inspiration from his recently published 'A Year of Nature Poems'. More details
