I’m a footie fan!

I’m a man, I’m a man

I’m a football fan

everything else you can keep

Football’s what I eat and drink

No need for any sleep

That’s only wasting precious time

For me to tweet about that team of mine

Or watch ‘em on the box with a beer

Don’t ask macho me to drink any wine

I’m very sporting, win, lose or draw

It don’t matter to me if I bust someone’s jaw

In a fight or brawl when we play away

‘Cos I could watch football every day,

If I didn’t have a job to earn some dosh

to go to places like London, “oh very posh”

I’m a fair bloke me I don’t hate anyone

only cockneys, scousers, or those that are wrong

about everything I like about my own team

yea I like to be heard as well as seen

I love it when we score a goal, I get to kiss and hug people young or old, I’m not so sure they like it done to them

but that’s just tough It’s  because I can.  Why?

‘Cos I’m an unapologetic football fan!

So very true MC. Most of the time in the MUFC Stretford end most fans didn’t even watch the game, they were too drunk in those days!

Much truth in this blog. But I recall being on the terraces at the old Arsenal ground and listening to a so-called fan (in his 20s) repeating
mindless obscenities at the players and - when challenged about his behaviour, responded in some astonishment "It's only football, innit?"
