Just Kill Me

Preamble

In 2002 Scott Dozier murdered drug dealer Jeremiah Miller He is on death row at Nevada Ely State Prison. Legal battles are occurring because the drug company does not want it's drug used for possible botched executions.

I murdered Jeremiah Miller

In the year twenty thousand and two

I'm on death row and you've postponed it twice

Whatever are you trying to do?

You're fighting over which type of drug

To inject me and kill me lethally

The delays are creating great torture

To me and my close family

Please stop your continual wrangling

We've waited too long with this pain

Just get it done, over, stop fighting

I don't want to ask you again

I don't recall the makers of rope complaining that their
product was chosen by the hangman; or anything from the local power company when the electric chair existed.
Only in America perhaps....?

Rhyme can deliver any message from comic to serious. A multifunctional poetic tool. A tool I enjoy wielding and using it to shape my writing ?

From The FUN BUS to Death Row rhyme offers extremes for exploration.

Don, you've crossed over...well done! You really can rhyme about everything?

A different take for you Don.

No matter what anyone has done, no matter if you believe in the death penalty or not - there is no excuse for this torture (I don't mean your poem ?).

Good work....

Cheers
