When I Go

Remember to set out the trash

on Mondays

remember to mow the grass

every week

make sure you change

the car's oil at 3000 miles

keep up with the bills

pay the taxes

watch the bank balance

check the mail

don't hang out in saloons

and don't dance with strangers

remember me once in a while

remember the laughter

but most of all

remember to feed the dog.

This poem is great!

I love how it has a touch of humor and sarcasm yet all the while we can all, or at least I can, relate to its truth!

Thank you❤

I loved this poem. Especially the last few lines.

The humour is right up my own street, with that last line
a great sign-off.

d.k.,
I enjoy the way that you place emphasis on the mundane facts of life as a prelude to something else. By the way I frequently dance with strangers as it is such fun. Thanks for this
