Mrs May's Farmyard (to the tune of Old McDonald)

Mrs May she had the lead

E I E I O

but wanted BIG majority

E I E I O

With a snap vote here and a shite campaign

Strong and stable falling by the wayside

Mrs May she had the lead

E I E I O

The lead was cut considerably

E I E I O

By turning weak and wobbly

E I E I O

With a no-show here and a u-turn there

Deficient in charisma with a hawk-eyed glare

The lead was cut considerably

E I E I O

The house was hung in exit polls

E I E I O

and happily it remained so

E I E I O

With a big loss here, a big win there,

coalescing chaos hanging in the air

The house was hung in exit polls

E I E I O

Mrs May was sad to wake

E I E I O

She had to face the burning shame

E I E I O

With a loss of face here, humiliation there

She settled on DUPlicity to keep her in her lair

Mrs May was sad to wake

E I E I O

Now Mrs May has done the deed

E I E I O

She's in bed with Mad Arlene

E I E I O

With a pro-life here, homophobe there,

a green deal burn-to-earn fucking up assemblies

A backlash here and a death wish there

King Billy marches, shitting on the Catholics

A back-hand here, a land-grab there

Sexist racist intolerant creationists

Mrs May has done the deed

E I E I O

Greed is like a bad disease

E I E I O

And Mrs May is on her knees

E I E I O

With a loyalist here, a terrorist there

Festering, damaging, careful what you wish for

Greed is like a bad disease

E I E I O

Eee Iii Eee Iii

Ohhh Theresa

What have you done?

But I loathe and despise all Tories..." - nothing very liberal
or conciliatory (oops) there in the greater scheme of things.
Shades of Madam Defarge, knitting needles and the tumbrils!

Hi Raj - I'm in Darwen tomorrow night at Bar39, Leeds on Friday night in the Labour Rooms in Otley (with our very own Steve Pottinger), and two spots at Cockermouth Festival on Saturday. Cockermouth are putting me on in Wordsworth House, haha 😀 See how many daffodils I spout! 😉

Thanks for your comment David. I appreciate your own experience and background in these matters. But I loathe and despise all Tories, and especially TM right now. The hypocrisy is more than breathtaking - it's suffocating.

Hi Laura,

I am no fan of the DUP or Mrs May, it is worth accepting that other major parties have entered into talks with the DUP subsequent to previous elections, all hoping to harness power for their own survival and/or benefit.

We really shouldn't expect anything else, and there is no moral claim to high ground for any of the weasels.

I can tell you this, having been combatively engaged by terrorists of the Loyalist and Republican persuasion (in NI), at the sharp end it matters not their politics they are all perverting democracy, even though some have done so under extreme circumstances and mis-governance, it is difficult to condone.

What I will grant all humans whatever their political persuasions, is their ability to find alternate solutions and come to compromises even after having held less diplomatic views.

Having been the subject of several attempts on my own life by people who were formerly terrorists and are now politicians, I see no reason why others who have been fortunate to live without near death experiences to hold similarly optimistic views.

That said, I understand and do not disagree with the sentiment of this piece.

What you mean is Mrs Mayhem's Funny Farm.
How low could she go. And now well and truly DUPed.

Th same person that was banging on about a coalition of chaos!

Where you doing your gigs Laura?

Nice one girl.

Mafioso only more so; the DUP were made an offer they couldn't refuse.. or was it the other way round. I'm not an expert. A nice sardonic set of lines Laura.

Anyone might think that "Remainer" May's pre-Brexit visits
to Brussels and her extraordinary u-turn over holding an
election was the result of EU advice about how to lose
Brexit impetus but still hang on to power (just) - now
referred to as "The Remainers' Revenge". Governments
and Parliament in my adult lifetime have shown themselves
remarkably compliant to being run from beyond these shores and even "No, no, no" Thatcher eventually fell victim
- with the Common Market a very distant memory by then and all manner of treaties agreed and signed in our name
without any reference whatsoever to the electorate in
the process. All the recent stuff
about "parliamentary sovereignty" overseeing the Brexit procedures
has a very hollow ring when recalling how it was shunted aside
in the past when it really mattered.
