Flaming June
I boarded the train and headed for the coast
Of this fine weather I must make the most
A warm gentle breeze blew through my hair
In the entire world I didn’t have a single care
I looked on enchanted my eyes open wide
At the sights and sounds of the countryside
This sunny interlude has come none too soon
The month has finally arrived for a celebration
It’s Flaming June
The sun shone like a beacon on a day for to die
As I strolled along the prom on a natural high
Keeping nice and cool eating an ice cream cone
My shades were on and I was in the chill zone
Walking barefoot on the baking golden sands
Kissed by an azure sky that I held in my hands
The mercury is rising and I am starting to swoon
But I will survive in this happy heavenly place
It’s Flaming June
Across the sultry horizon the sun goes down
Casting a crimson shadow across a seaside town
Happy smiling faces sit outside the pubs and cafés
Watching the world go by as yachts cruise the bay
Eat drink and be merry is the order of the day
Sing and dance with abandon let your body sway
I lay my head down by the light of the silvery moon
Looking forward to waking up on a brand new day
It’s flaming June
