To Richard

No more confusion, no more pain,

Just a stillness of mind at the ending of time.

Another leaf’s fallen, unseen by the world.

But I watched the fall.

A silent descent,

But I heard the call.

He cried out, there was fear in his voice,

He tried to give comfort now removed of the choice,

Allowed one brief moment to make himself heard,

Just one direction, unable to turn.

Another leaf’s fallen, where is he now?

A silent departure, a life gone unseen,

The end of the future, the end of a dream.

The world has forgotten what it never knew,

A loss to them all, not only we few.

We are all falling leaves in the stillness of time,

But we cling to our branches, unwilling to climb.

Our day will soon come, that is for sure

But what will there be there, what lies before?

Perhaps no more confusion, no more pain.

Just a stillness of mind at the ending of time….

John, there is so much meaning in your words here. A very loving tribute and a message to us all about life. There are some moving lines, I particularly like:

"We are all falling leaves in the stillness of time,
But we cling to our branches, unwilling to climb."

A heartfelt beautiful poem.

Once again, welcome to the site and please keep posting.
