Donations are essential to keep Write Out Loud going

National Poetry Day

entry picture

I am an eternal scribe with inspiration in my tank

I paint pictures with words for better or worse

The whole wide world is my canvas blank

A complicated intriguing man of intricate verse

My Celtic heritage for my blarney I have to thank

Mostly I am upbeat but then again terse

We are all in it together no order or rank

Writing is a blessing and sometimes a curse

The pen is mightier than the sword to be frank

Hey all you poets take the time to converse

If you have something to say don’t draw a blank

Write out loud you are a poet and proud

A fine way to acknowledge poetry day...to which I add:
Eternal scribe - long may you imbibe
Of the poetical liquor of living,
And day or night, find something to write,
And in that way keep on giving!

Tom,
I admire the way you`ve made the curse of that terse verse ruin converse, and threaded it through all those `anks`. (you know the way I adore good rhyming?)

And congratulations on being the first poet on here to pay a proper tribute to National poetry day.
