Awesome Autumn

entry picture

I contemplate in a moody borough of New York

A looming grey sky above gives me the blues

I take a stroll across the imposing Brooklyn Bridge

Manhattan is calling my name what’s the news

I stumble blindly down streets with no name

People swarming like ants down the avenues

Time to take a bite out of the big apple

Welcome my friends to the human zoo

October is alive and knocking on my door

There is a season of change in the crisp air

I step boldly into the delights of central park

Drink in the sights and don’t have a care

I drown in an oasis of red yellow and brown

An ocean of trees and leaves consume me

I lay beguiled by the lake under a red maple

Man I just love the fall I am on my knees

It takes my breathe away I want more some

Autumn is absolutely awesome

Hi M.C.

Central Park is a great place to experience the Fall.

Thanks for feedback :)

Never been but passed close by on a flight to Louisiana.
The city that never sleeps - immortalised in song, one of
the best of which is the standard "Autumn in New York"...
very appropriate to this blog.

Hi Harry

I wanted to give it an American twang. Central Park is a great escape from the maddening crowd.

Thanks for your feedback :D

Tom,
I like that awesome autumn.

I once spent a whole week in a street in a very segregated part of Brooklyn. The only white guy I met there was a very
drunken Glaswegian swearing like a trooper.

(Loved Central Park though)
