Riding on red

Baby, oh cry "red red" baby!

Red stare, double dare me, baby.

You look angry maybe,

that frown like a red cloak across your gaze

with your silver tongue

words like shining bullets

cutting me down with your mad arms.

What mad, bad arms you have!

What a mad, bad glare you have!

All the better to come swinging at me

with those meaty limbs like axes.

Oh, please baby I've tried to hide from the wolf as well

but the wolf is inside me, he rides me!

The wolf is in my mouth, he is in my mind,

he is in my heart, his sharp claws wrapped around my soul.

Oh baby, unzip my dress, oh yes!

- And find the wolf within me,

standing there,

completely bare.

it is I, it is I, it is I!

Kiss me.

On further reading there is a D H Lawrence feel to the descriptors.

I can't claim to understand the first two lines. for me this piece starts in line 3 where it really gets going. Again some good lines,

"but the wolf is inside me, he rides me!
The wolf is in my mouth, he is in my mind,
he is in my heart, his sharp claws wrapped around my soul".

Personally I feel the repetitious baby's weaken this and it work equally well if not better without them, at least at the start.

You always seem to be able to conjure up personal duress in your work Alexandra.
